    Abstract: Disclosed is an electrode for a carbon transmitter which comprises a body of an electrically conductive material, such as metal or a conductive resin, with at least a part of the surface of the body comprising electrically conductive carbon. Such an electrode may be prepared by applying a carbon coating onto the metallic substrate or by molding a molding resin material having particulate conductive carbon dispersed therein. The electrode has stable electrical properties comparable to those of the known gold-plated electrode.
