    Abstract: An outboard marine propulsion unit comprising a clamp bracket and a swivel bracket which is pivotably mounted on the clamp bracket and supporting a driving assembly. A reverse lock mechanism and a tilt lock mechanism are provided. The tilt lock mechanism is so constructed that, after an operating lever is shifted, the driving assembly can be raised to a tilted position where it is automatically locked.
