  • Publication number: 20070144289
Abstract: A gear in which forged chamfered portions are formed on the respective ridge line portions at intersections between tooth bottom lands, tooth flanks, and a tooth tip land of the gear and end faces in the axial direction of the gear, and which does not need machining such as cutting to remove burrs caused by hobbing in the conventional techniques.

  • Publication number: 20050136223
Abstract: A chamfer processing method for forming a chamfer part in a producing method for molding a product which has a cut-finished surface by cutting and penetrated hole or concave portion opening to said cut-finished surface, wherein chamfer processing step for chamfer processing previously the chamfer part by press molding at a corner part between the cut-finished surface and the penetrated hole or concave portion, and cutting step for cut-finishing the cut-finished surface in order to remain the chamfer part on the corner part between the cut-finished surface and the penetrated hole or concave portion.

  • Patent number: 5363714
Abstract: The present invention provides a novel gear product including plural gear members of different tooth profiles and configurations, which are manufactured integrally through forging process. The forged gear product of the invention is compact and light in weight while having a sufficient strength. The gear product includes a clutch spline member with clutch spline teeth and a helical gear member with spiral teeth, which are integrally forged and continuously arranged in the axial direction to be adjacent to each other without any clearance therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4672729
Abstract: A method for machining a clutch gear for the transmission of an automobile which comprises forming a generally round annular bar made of malleable material in a cold forging or hot forging, urging the generally round annular bar against a die to form a final predetermined dimensional cross section and a chamfer projection simultaneously, fine blanking the chamfer projection into a tooth form and pushing the tooth form into a die from an end surface opposite the chamfer projection to form an inverted taper on the tooth form which prevents disengagement of the clutch.
