  • Patent number: 11795059
Abstract: Provided are an atomic layer sheet that contains boron and oxygen as framework elements, is networked by nonequilibrium couplings having boron-boron bonds, and has a molar ratio of oxygen to boron (oxygen/boron) of less than 1.5, a laminated sheet containing a plurality of such atomic layer sheets and metal ions between ones of the sheets, and a thermotropic liquid crystal and a lyotropic liquid crystal containing these. In addition, there is provided a method for manufacturing an atomic layer sheet and/or a laminated sheet containing boron and oxygen, the method including: adding MBH4, where M represents an alkali metal ion, into a solvent containing an organic solvent in an inert gas atmosphere to prepare a solution; and exposing the solution to an atmosphere containing oxygen.

  • Patent number: 7122062
Abstract: An objective of the invention is to provide a hair dye composition having sufficient decolorizing performance and dying performance without exhibiting any irritative odor, and also having an ability of imparting the hairs with an excellent smoothness. The aspect of the invention is a hair dye composition comprising: a first agent containing an alkanolamine and an oxidation dye; and, a second agent containing an oxidant, wherein a higher alcohol and a quaternary ammonium salt cationic surfactant are contained in the first agent and/or the second agent; wherein the molar ratio of the higher alcohol to the quaternary ammonium salt cationic surfactant is in the range of 3 to 15. In the composition described above, it is preferable that substantially no ammonia is contained.

  • Publication number: 20060013795
Abstract: The present invention pertains to a hair treatment composition that contains (a) a specific long-chain acylsulfonate type of anionic surfactant (such as an N-stearoyl-N-methyltaurine salt), (b) a higher alcohol, (c) an anionic polymer, and (d) a reducing agent or an oxidant, in which the combined amount of component (a) and component (b) is 0.5 to 10 weight %, and the molar ratio of component (b) to component (a) is 2 to 10, and provides a hair treatment composition that does not drip off when applied, that is easy to rinse and wash away, that has an excellent feel during and after rinsing, and that does not impair permanent hair treatment effects such as a waving effect, straightening effect, or retexturizing effect.

  • Patent number: 6378530
Abstract: By operationally mounting a plurality of wafers or plates forming tumblers in an independent, separate, substantially closed container, and cooperatively mounting the plate tumbler container with a cylinder forming member, a unique cylinder lock system is attained which is easily and inexpensively manufactured, as well as quickly and easily re-keyed whenever desired. In the preferred embodiment, all of the plate tumblers which are desired for the particular lock construction are mounted in the substantially closed container, with each plate tumbler having the requisite spring means associated therewith. In addition, the plate tumbler holding container incorporates one aperture for each plate tumbler which allows the slot engaging fin of each tumbler to extend outwardly from the container for locking and unlocking association with the housing.

  • Patent number: 6344185
Abstract: By combining dihydroxyacetone as the active skin coloring agent in combination found with a blend of dispersion polymers and polyester polymers, an easily employed, self-tanning formulation is realized which produces a long lasting, naturally appearing coloring of the skin without any orange pigmentation being produced. In addition, tan colored skin produced by the present invention maintains the desired color for extended periods of time. In the present invention, the dispersion polymers stabilize the dihydroxyacetone as well as provide a thickening agent for the composition. In addition, the present invention also incorporates an oil soluble polyester polymer in combination with the other ingredients which achieves a formulation which provides a slow release of the active ingredient.
