  • Publication number: 20240103277
Abstract: This optical waveguide detection element includes a substrate, an optical waveguide layer formed on the substrate, and a photodetector. The optical waveguide layer includes a first optical waveguide in which visible light having a wavelength of 380 nm to 800 nm propagates, a second optical waveguide in which near-infrared light having a wavelength of 801 nm to 2000 nm propagates, and a third optical waveguide in which light propagates to a light receiving surface of the photodetector. A visible light output port of the first optical waveguide from which the visible light is output, a near-infrared light output port of the second optical waveguide from which the near-infrared light is output, and a reflected light input port of the third optical waveguide to which the near-infrared light is reflected and returned are arranged on one end surface of the optical waveguide layer.

  • Patent number: 7327900
Abstract: An image read controller for extracting an original portion from an image read by an image reader. The image read controller includes means for extracting a rectangular area containing the area in which the original exists from the read image, inclination detection means for detecting the inclination of the rectangular area, inclination correction means for correcting the inclination of the rectangle in response to the detected inclination, cut width setting means for setting the cut width of each side of the rectangle in response to the detected inclination, and cutting means for cutting the margins of the rectangular area based on the setup cut width of each side to extract the original image.

  • Publication number: 20040233483
Abstract: A film holder has a strip film holder provided at a position where when one corner of the film holder is matched with a corner of an original bed of the image reader having the same positional relationship as the corner, as many frames as a half the number of frames of one roll of strip film are contained in the read area; when a corner on the opposite side to the corner of the film holder in the longitudinal side direction is matched with a corner on the opposite side to the corner of the original bed of the image reader in the lateral side direction, other frames than the frames of the strip film are contained in the read area. Accordingly, worsening the operability in reading a transparency can be prevented in the image reader which has a read area meeting as many frames as a half the number of frames of one roll of strip film and can read a transparency.
