Abstract: A communication device connected to a packet network, which is provided with a storage portion having communication-tracing-information storing areas respectively assigned to logical channels and a communication processing portion for identifying a logical channel by a network header of transmission or reception data obtained from the packet network when the transmission or reception data is generated, and for writing communication-tracing-information corresponding to the generated transmission or reception data to a communication-tracing-information storing area assigned to the identified logical channel. Thus, communication-tracing-information is stored in the communication-tracing-information storing areas respectively corresponding to logical channels. Thereby, the stored communication-tracing-information corresponding to a logical channel is not written over that corresponding to another logical channel.
