  • Publication number: 20220128151
Abstract: The invention relates to a sealing assembly for the limitation of fluid flow along a rotatable shaft that is passed through a housing member that separates a high pressure side and a low pressure side, wherein the sealing assembly comprises: a rotor with a sealing surface which essentially extends radially in relation to the shaft, a flushing sealing system that extends between the rotor and the housing member, which sealing system is in contact with both the housing member and the sealing surface of the rotor to effect a sealing effect, wherein the flushing sealing system comprises an elastic sealing member that in use imposes a targeted compression force on the sealing surface.

  • Patent number: 6512308
Abstract: A fault tolerant air bag system needs a floating supply, which supply conventionally is made by means of a DC-DC converter with a transformer. By splitting the main energy reserve capacitor (14) into two capacitors (14, 34), and coupling one of the capacitors (34) to the other (14) by means of switches (36, 38) which open during a crash, no transformer is needed any more.

  • Patent number: 5852362
Abstract: A device and a method for its manufacture, for magnetic-inductive measurement of the quantity of mixture flowing through a pipeline into which the device has been incorporated. The device includes a housing having a measuring tube with an electrically insulating lining therein. The lining substantially consists of wear-resistant, insulating ceramic material in the form of tiles applied on a layer of plastic material having a thickness between 3 and 10 mm. The joints between the tiles are filled with plastic material. The housing contains magnetic coils. A pair of electrodes are mounted in the measuring tube and extend through the wall of the measuring tube and are insulated in relation to it. Within the housing, the electrodes are connected to lines leading to measuring members for measuring the voltage difference generated in the flowing medium by the magnetic field of the magnetic coils.

  • Patent number: 4750748
Abstract: Shaft seal consisting of an annular body of elastic material, comprising a fastening flange (1;12), a substantially axially extending flexible hinge portion (6;13) and a sealing lip (7;14). The fastening flange, hinge portion and sealing ring (5) form a single piece, and the sealing ring (7;14) has a cylindrical contact surface with the shaft extending over substantially the entire length of the sealing ring. This length is sufficient to receive one or more tensioning elements (10,11; 15,16) of an operative width to guide the sealing ring concentrically on the shaft over its entire axial length.

  • Patent number: 4573760
Abstract: A connector system for coupling a pair of single optical fibers is disclosed. The connector comprises a connector tube, a lens spacer, a pair of positioning sleeves and positioning sleeve elastomeric stoppers, a pair of adjusting screws and a pair of clamping screws with corresponding clamping screw elastomeric stoppers. The optical fibers to be connected are cut and flame treated to form hemispherical beads or lenses on each cut end. The optical fiber lenses are spaced apart inside the connector surrounded by a coupling medium that has an index of refraction higher than the optical fibers. The fibers are optically aligned by fine adjustments such that a maximum strength is obtained.

  • Patent number: 4273343
Abstract: The present invention relates to a seal of a shaft being rotatable relative to a stationary housing, said shaft being provided with a groove (3, 13), said groove being spiraled such that during rotation of the shaft the groove will pump fluid from the high-pressure side towards the low-pressure side. The shaft portion provided with the helical groove coacts with an abutting flexible sleeve (6) so that the amount of fluid which is allowed to escape in a controlled manner can be determined.
