Abstract: A device for alignment of a vehicle body and a method in the work of alignment of a vehicle body. The device includes an alignment table to which the vehicle is attached by skirt clamps, the vehicle being fixed from skirt plates to the skirt clamps and through the skirt clamps to the alignment table during alignment work. Each skirt clamp has a support arm which is positionable in relation to, and separated from, the skirt clamp and which support arm can be coupled with the skirt clamp by a fastening member. The support arm is also connected with the constructions of the vehicle directly or through intermediate parts such that damage to the skirt beam is prevented by the support arm during the alignment work as the support force of the support arm is received by the skirt clamps.

Abstract: The invention relates to a car body rectifying means (10), comprising a rectifying table (11) to which a vehicle (A) can be attached with the attachments (12) of the rectifying table (11). The rectifying means (10) comprises a rectifying unit (15) secured to the rectifying table (11), comprising a base frame (16) and a slide unit (17) movable relative thereto. The slide unit (17) comprises a rectifying boom (19) turnable about a vertical axis (Z) moving along with the slide unit (17), said rectifying boom (19) being securable in optional positions relative to the slide unit (17). The invention also relates to a procedure in car body rectifying.

Abstract: Clamping apparatus for transmitting a traction force to a metallic workpiece, such as an automobile body or the like, for deforming the same includes a frame including a clamping head housing portion having a cylindrical cavity formed therein, a clamping head assembly including a clamping head body having a cylindrical section and a pair of jaw portions, the cylindrical section portion of the clamping head body having a circumferentially extending groove formed therein with which is aligned the shank portion of a set screw which extends through the clamping head housing portion to fix the clamping head assembly, which is otherwise rotatable within the housing, with respect to the frame. The frame is provided with three appropriately formed areas for attaching a pulling bridle thereto for selectively applying a traction force either in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the clamping jaw portions, parallel to the plane thereof or in a direction 45.degree. to the plane thereof.
