    Abstract: A cooling module for a battery pack assembly is disclosed. The cooling module includes a frame having a plurality of legs forming an opening through a central portion of the frame, at least one of the plurality of legs including a slot formed therethrough. A cooling fin is coupled to the frame. The cooling fin includes a corrugated plate interposed between a first plate and a second plate forming a plurality of fluid flow channels between the first plate and the second plate. The cooling modules are disposed in a stack having at least one battery cell disposed between adjacent cooling modules. The battery cell is in heat transfer communication with the cooling fin of at least one cooling module, wherein the cooling fin facilitates a transfer of heat energy between the battery cell and the flow channels formed in the cooling fin.

    Abstract: An exhaust gas recirculation valve assembly for controlling the recirculation of exhaust gases in an internal combustion engine having a base with an exhaust gas chamber formed therein, a cover closing the chamber, a valve member mounted within the exhaust gas chamber for metering exhaust gas passage through the chamber, an actuator energizable to operate the valve within the exhaust gas chamber and a heat deflector assembly placed between the cover and the base to reduce heat transfer from the exhaust gas chamber to the actuator. The heat deflector assembly is constructed of a first gasket member which is configured to form a seal between the cover and the base and the second heat deflector member mounted to the lower surface of the gasket member, facing the exhaust gas chamber and separating the gasket member from direct impingement of exhaust gases thereon. As a result, durability of the insulative gasket member is ensured.

    Abstract: A vacuum regulator valve unit has a valve body and a coil assembly that define a chamber. The valve body has an air inlet passage opening into the chamber. A washer overlies the valve body within the chamber and has an air inlet port aligned with the passage and a valve seat surrounding the port. The coil assembly supports a shaft projecting into the chamber. A valve member is mounted loosely on the shaft within the chamber and slides on the shaft into and out of engagement with the valve seat in response to energization and deenergization of the coil. The valve body has a peripheral annular ledge that cambers the washer to assure full engagement of the washer with the valve body at the perimeter of the port. The shaft has an undercut taper that articulates the valve member to allow the valve member to align with the valve set and thereby assure full engagement of the valve member with the valve seat.
