  • Patent number: 4536537
Abstract: Blends of propylene homopolymers, linear low density ethylene copolymers and certain plasticizer oils possess extremely good impact resistance at low temperatures (-30.degree. C.) along with good stiffness and blush.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 21, 1984
Date of Patent: August 20, 1985
    Assignee: Shell Oil Company
Inventors: G. Bruce Klingensmith, Richard O. Whitehead, Thair L. Higgins
  • Patent number: H179
Abstract: A novel product of the polymerization of butene-1 is highly stereoregular but nevertheless has low crystallinity and has properties of a thermoplastic elastomer. This elastomeric polybutylene is the total product. Its elastomeric qualitites lie between those of plasticized vinyl polymers and conventional vulcanized rubbers. The butene-1 polymers may be compounded with extenders and fillers for use as molded or extruded elastomeric product or may be used without plasticizer addition in place of flexible vinyl polymers, such as highly plasticized poly(vinylchloride) PVC.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 28, 1984
Date of Patent: December 2, 1986
Inventors: George B. Klingensmith, Thair L. Higgins
