  • Publication number: 20230124114
Abstract: The present disclosure introduces methods for characterizing iron core carbohydrate colloid drug products, such as iron sucrose drug products. Disclosed methods enable the characterization of the iron core size of the iron core nanoparticles in iron carbohydrates as they exist in the formulation in solution, such as e.g. iron sucrose drug products, and more particularly, the average particle diameter size and size distribution(s) of the iron core nanoparticles. The disclosed methods apply small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) in parallel beam transmission geometry, with a sample mounted inside a capillary and centered in the X-ray beam, to iron carbohydrates, such as iron sucrose, in solution without the need to modify the sample, such as to remove unbound carbohydrates, dilute, or dry the sample, to accurately characterize the average iron core particle diameter size of the iron core nanoparticles.

  • Patent number: 11613819
Abstract: An abrupt interface electroreduction catalyst includes a porous gas diffusion layer and a catalyst layer providing a sharp reaction interface. The electroreduction catalyst can be used for converting CO2 into a target product such as ethylene. The porous gas diffusion layer can be hydrophobic and configured for contacting gas-phase CO2 while the catalyst layer is disposed on and covers a reaction interface side of the porous gas diffusion layer. The catalyst layer has another side contacting an electrolyte and can be hydrophilic, composed a metal such as Cu and is sufficiently thin to prevent diffusion limitations of the reactant in the electrolyte and enhance selectivity for the target product. The electroreduction catalyst can be made by vapor deposition methods and can be used for electrochemical production of ethylene in reaction system.

  • Publication number: 20230015737
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided that train a machine-learned language encoding model through the use of a contrastive learning task. In particular, the present disclosure describes a contrastive learning task where the encoder learns to distinguish input tokens from plausible alternatives. In some implementations, on each training example the proposed method masks out some subset (e.g., 15%) of the original input tokens, replaces the masked tokens with samples from a “generator” (e.g., which may be a small masked language model), and then trains the encoder to predict whether each token comes from the original data or is a replacement produced by the generator.

  • Publication number: 20220382742
Abstract: An online system, such as a multi-tenant system ensures high availability of systems, for example, database management systems. The online system replicates the databases across multiple datacenters including: (1) a master node that receives read and write requests (2) a read-replica that receives only read requests and (3) a spare node that does not receive requests but acts as standby for high availability. One or more application servers may send read and write requests to the databases. The system performs a sweep of upgrades of the database nodes and also performs traffic quiescing of the requests received from the application servers to redirect the traffic across the database nodes as the upgrade sweep is orchestrated. The sweep of upgrades ensures that the availability of the database management system to the end users is maximized during the upgrade process.
