    Abstract: The present invention discloses a homo-polymeric and co-polymeric wax inhibitor (WI) useful for the flow of waxy crude oil and their synthesis thereof. The WI(s) comprises of any one of C14 to C24 fatty alcohol or mixture thereof in 2 mol % to 50 mol %, and an unsaturated organic acid i.e. acrylic acid, and poly alpha olefins i.e. poly alpha hexene, poly alpha octene, poly alpha decene, poly alpha dodecene of composition ranging from about 0.01 wt % to 20 wt % wherein the average molecular weight of poly alpha olefins used ranged from 1000 to 10000. A method of preparing a series of WI(s) with varying compositional ratios of the fatty alcohols, acrylic acid and polyalpha olefins targeting a wide range (C17 to C65 or beyond) of wax present in waxy crude oil is also disclosed.

    Abstract: Higher grade VG bitumens are prepared particularly by blending of 0.1 to 20 wt % specific Sulfur-Based Polymeric Additives (SBPA) having MW 1,000 to 10,000 Dalton. The prepared higher grade VG bitumens have Kinematic Viscosity of from 200 cSt to 1000 cSt measured at 135° C. from Base bitumen (VG10) at a temperature from 100° C. to 140° C. and stirring in the range of 800 rpm to 1200 rpm for 30 minutes to 90 minutes for improving the properties of bitumens and to make higher grades of Bitumens (VG20, VG30, VG40) for industrial applications.

The crude oil and sulfur rich petroleum refinery fractions and the oxidation catalyst are stirred to form co-polymers of sulfur-containing heterocyclic compounds. The co-polymers of sulfur-containing heterocyclic compounds are separated by filtration or by centrifugation.
