  • Publication number: 20230283530
Abstract: Methods are provided for modifying assurance monitoring of a service based on operational states. The methods involve establishing, based on service configuration information, an assurance monitoring for a service provided by a plurality of network nodes that establish network connectivity for the service. The service includes a plurality of sub-services. The methods further involve obtaining, from the plurality of network nodes, telemetry data related to the service, determining one or more operational states of the plurality of network nodes based on the telemetry data, and modifying the assurance monitoring for the service based on the one or more operational states of the plurality of network nodes.

  • Publication number: 20180329794
Abstract: The subject disclosure describes solutions for graphically displaying hierarchical relationships between a network underlay and a network overlay. In some aspects, a method of the technology includes steps for aggregating associations between each of a plurality of physical network devices and one or more virtual network entities, displaying two or more pivot options that graphically represent the physical network devices and/or the virtual network entities, and receiving a pivot selection indicating at least one physical network device or virtual network entity for which hierarchy information is requested by a user. In some aspects, the method can further include steps for graphically displaying one or more layers of a network hierarchy based on the pivot selection. Systems and machine-readable media are also provided.

  • Patent number: 8489390
Abstract: A method is provided in one example and includes receiving data propagating in a network environment and separating the data into one or more fields. At least some of the fields are evaluated in order to identify nouns and noun phrases within the fields. The method also includes identifying selected words within the nouns and noun phrases based on a whitelist and a blacklist. The whitelist includes a plurality of designated words to be tagged and the blacklist includes a plurality of rejected words that are not to be tagged. A resultant composite is generated for the selected nouns and noun phrases that are tagged. The resultant composite is incorporated into the whitelist if the resultant composite is approved.

  • Publication number: 20110258308
Abstract: An example method includes receiving network traffic associated with an end user and evaluating the network traffic to identify network activity associated with the end user. The method includes generating a presence status associated with the end user based on the network activity, the presence status is deduced automatically without involving active participation from the end user. In more specific embodiments, the presence status is integrated into a directory in which presence status for a plurality of end users is stored. Initially, the end user can be marked in an unavailable state, where authentication to a network causes the presence status to change to an available state. In other embodiments, calendar events and telephone events can be tracked for the end user in order to update the presence status. Additionally, at least one parameter associated with the presence status is hidden based on configurable end user privacy preferences.
