  • Publication number: 20240068783
Abstract: A method to detect, identify and determine the position of laser points from infrared laser emitters in a firearm training simulation system. The method consists of two steps. This first step combines some common tools such as a camera with a filter switcher and edge and corner detecting algorithms in image processing to provide a fast automatic screen calibrating method. The second step is to detect laser point objects in each frame continuously captured by the camera, and then further process these objects to identify laser shots, filter out noisy objects, and eventually detect simulated shots from different laser emitters and determine the final mapped position of the shot.

  • Patent number: 11342961
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for near field radio-frequency (RF) testing of devices, particularly user equipment (UEs) capable of millimeter-wave (mmWave) transmissions. An exemplary test apparatus is described that uses a transducer to facilitate near field over-the-air testing of UEs in the mmWave transmission band. The transducer may be an orthomode transducer and may include a dual-polarity port positioned in the reactive near field of an antenna of a device under test (DUT). For UE signal transmission tests, the orthomode transducer splits test signals received from the antenna of the DUT via the dual-polarity port into a pair of single-polarity RF signals. The single-polarity RF signals are separately fed through a pair of waveguide-to-coaxial adaptors into separate coaxial cables, which feed coaxial transmission versions of the single-polarity RF signals to test equipment for analysis. UE signal reception tests are also described that utilize the same or different orthomode transducer.

  • Publication number: 20180108448
Abstract: In an exemplary method, a nano-architectured carbon structure is fabricated by forming a unit (e.g., a film) of a liquid carbon-containing starting material and at least one dopant. A surface of the unit is nano-molded using a durable mold that is pre-formed with a pattern of nano-concavities corresponding to a desired pattern of nano-features to be formed by the mold on the surface of the unit. After nano-molding the surface of the unit, the first unit is stabilized to render the unit and its formed nano-structures capable of surviving downstream steps. The mold is removed from the first surface to form a nano-molded surface of a carbonization precursor. The precursor is carbonized in an inert-gas atmosphere at a suitable high temperature to form a corresponding nano-architectured carbon structure. A principal use of the nano-architectured carbon structure is a carbon electrode used in, e.g., Li-ion batteries, supercapacitors, and battery-supercapacitor hybrid devices.

  • Publication number: 20160034411
Abstract: Herein disclosed are systems, methods, and apparatus for dynamic switching of bus ownership, and in particular, for dynamic switching of peripheral bus ownership as well as all subsystems and/or peripherals on the bus. A peripheral bus access manager is distributed across multiple subsystems and controls access to a peripheral bus controller. The peripheral bus access manager also determines which subsystem should own the bus and then arbitrates access to the peripheral bus controller in order to indirectly make a desired subsystem the peripheral bus owner.

  • Publication number: 20050184194
Abstract: A device is provided for hoisting a module for mounting into an overhead space, such as the crown of an aircraft fuselage. The device includes a frame that supports the module, and a lifting device that lifts the first frame to properly place the module. The lifting device includes a frame, attachment devices that attach the frame of the lifting device to overhead support frames, and a driving device that moves the frame of the lifting device up the attachment devices. The frame of the lifting device receives the frame that supports the module as the frame of the lifting device is moved by the driving device.
