  • Publication number: 20140086871
Abstract: Disclosed herein are immunoglobulin constructs comprising at least one immunoglobulin domain or fragment thereof; and a therapeutic polypeptide or derivative or variant thereof attached to or inserted into said immunoglobulin domain. Also provided are immunoglobulin constructs comprising a mammalian immunoglobulin heavy chain comprising at least a portion of a knob domain in the complementarity-determining region 3 (CDR3H) or fragment thereof; and a therapeutic polypeptide attached to or inserted into said knob domain of the CDR3H. Also provided are immunoglobulin constructs comprising a mammalian immunoglobulin heavy chain comprising at least a portion of a stalk domain in the complementarity-determining region 3 (CDR3H) or fragment thereof; and a therapeutic polypeptide attached to or inserted into said stalk domain of the CDR3H. Also described herein are methods and compositions comprising the immunoglobulin constructs described herein for treatment and prevention of a disease or condition in a subject.

  • Publication number: 20130203793
Abstract: Method and composition for protection and treatment against influenza viral infection by modulating the activity of at least one essential host signaling pathways, including the Hedgehog (Hh), the Bone Morphogenetic Protein (BMP), the Notch (N) signaling pathways or combinations thereof, which activity is altered by the viral protein NS1. The method and composition comprise use of a compound that modulates at least one of these essential host signaling pathways for preventing or controlling symptoms associated with influenza viral infection. The method or composition can also be used either alone or in combination with other therapeutic agents for treating or protecting against influenza infection, and associated syndromes.

  • Publication number: 20130177581
Abstract: Provided are mRNA translational enhancer elements (TEEs), e.g., SEQ ID NOs:1-35. Also provided are translational enhancer polynucleotides that comprise one or more of the specific TEEs exemplified herein or their variants, homologs or functional derivatives. Further provided are expression vectors comprising such TEEs or translational enhancer polynucleotides, as well as host cells and expression systems that harbor such vectors.

  • Publication number: 20130171074
Abstract: The present invention provides antibody targeting compounds in which the specificity of the antibody has been reprogrammed by covalently or noncovalently linking a targeting agent to the combining site of an antibody. By this approach, the covalently modified antibody takes on the binding specificity of the targeting agent. The compound may have biological activity provided by the targeting agent or by a separate biological agent. Various uses of the invention compounds are provided.
