Abstract: A cleaning apparatus for a vacuum pedestal and method of cleaning a pedestal used in semiconductor device fabrication are described. The apparatus has a baseplate, a collar attached to the baseplate, a cap disposed on the collar, and a shaft that extends from the collar through the cap, collar and baseplate. A manual rotatable handle is attached to a shaft portion that extends from the cap. Motion of the handle in a downward direction is impeded by the cap. A disk is attached to a lower portion of the shaft and is separated from a bottom of the baseplate due to weighted rings, which are attached to the disk and surround the lower portion of the shaft such that a vertical float is present between the shaft and the cap. At least one abrasive pad is attached to the disk to remove build-up on the underlying pedestal surface.

The communications device (100) and the method (200) provide for reading (260) a pre-defined user interface setting stored in a memory of the accessory, the reading being performed by the communications device (100) and the pre-defined user interface settings being pre-selected by a user of the accessory (120,140). Thereafter, the communications device (100) and the method (200) effect a controlling (270) of a user interface parameter of the accessory (120,140), the controlling being effected in response to the reading (260) of the pre-defined user interface setting.

Abstract: A communications device (100) and method (200) for automatically selecting features of accessories (120,140) operatively coupled to the communications device (100). In use the method (100) includes detecting operative coupling (220) of accessories (120,140) to the communications device (100) and then determining (240) a common feature supported by the accessories (120,140). Thereafter, the method (200) provides for selecting (250) one of the accessories (120,140) to provide the common feature the selecting (250) being determined by a sequence of the operative coupling.
