  • Publication number: 20220320898
Abstract: A device uses linking rules to process and optionally update a hierarchical substation model of a power system substation. The linking rules determine to which substation object at a first hierarchy level substation objects at a further hierarchy level of the hierarchical substation model are to be connected.

  • Publication number: 20220245096
Abstract: To facilitate storage of data from plural data sources of an industrial automation control system, power distribution system or power generation system, a decision making device executes a machine learning algorithm to determine a compression technique in dependence on the data source from which data originates.

  • Patent number: 11356323
Abstract: A method is provided for configuring communication of data points from producers of data points of an industrial automation control system, power distribution system, power generation system, and/or power transmission system to a consumer of data points. The method includes receiving, by a configuration device, information on required data points. The required data points are a subset of all available data points and are the set of data points required by the consumer of data points. The configuration device automatically determines a communication configuration of data points for transmission of the required data points from the producers to the consumer.

  • Publication number: 20210097195
Abstract: A method can be used to analyze a log of a device or a plurality of devices of a first entity. The method includes generating an encrypted log by encrypting the log at the first entity, generating an encrypted query by encrypting a query at the first entity, transferring the encrypted log and the encrypted query from the first entity to a second entity, analyzing the encrypted log on the second entity by using the encrypted query, generating an encrypted analysis result at the second entity, transferring the encrypted analysis result from the second entity to the first entity, decrypting the encrypted analysis result on the first entity, and verifying the decrypted analysis result at the first entity.

  • Patent number: 10574480
Abstract: A method includes transmitting time-critical messages in an OSI layer 2 network tunnel from a first IED in a first substation to a second IED in a second substation over a WAN, wherein each of the first and second substation comprises an edge IED and is associated with a substation LAN, wherein each of the time-critical messages comprises message parameters. The method includes: creating a translation table comprising corresponding values of the message parameters, between the LANs and the WAN; defining a virtual IED in the second substation using the translated values of the message parameters, to impersonate the first IED; translating the message parameters according to the translation table, by the edge IED of the first and second substation; forwarding the time-critical messages from the first IED in the first substation to the WAN; and receiving the time-critical messages by the second IED in the second substation from the WAN.

  • Publication number: 20160373274
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method of transmitting time-critical messages in an OSI layer 2 network tunnel from a first TED in a first substation to a second IED in a second substation over a WAN, wherein each of the first and second substation comprises an edge IED and is associated with a substation LAN, wherein each of the time-critical messages comprises message parameters. The method comprises the steps of: a) creating a translation table comprising corresponding values of the message parameters, between the LANs and the WAN, b) defining a virtual FED in the second substation using the translated values of the message parameters, to impersonate the first IED, c) translating the message parameters according to the translation table, by the edge IED of the first and second substation, d) forwarding the time-critical messages from the first IED in the first substation to the WAN, and e) receiving the time-critical messages by the second IED in the second substation from the WAN.
