    Abstract: The instant invention relates to the point welding of a highly corrosion-resistant metal cover plate to a less corrosion-resistant support and provides for the highly corrosion-resistant cover plate to be provided with holes and to be bonded at the same time to the support by a first build-up weld in the holes. The first weld layer is then covered by a second build-up weld. build-up welding is effect by means of metal-inert gas welding with wire electrode.
