  • Patent number: 5689222
Abstract: An electromagnetic relay having a coil core which carries a coil. The coil is connected to one end to the short limb of an L-shaped magnet yoke, on a long limb of the L-shaped magnet, a hinged armature is supported in a manner which allows the armature to pivot about a pivot axis on the long limb of the magnet. In order to achieve a precisely defined switching behavior which is concurrent for the relays of a series, the length of the coil core is produced by means of upsetting as a function of the height of the pivot axis above a base area of the magnet yoke on which the coil core is secured, with the result that the position of the hinged armature with respect to a pole face of the coil core is precisely defined.

  • Patent number: 4972166
Abstract: An electromagnetic relay has a base plate, a magnetic yoke mounted on the base plate, a relay winding, a spool core supporting the relay winding, a hinged armature arranged turnably on the spool core, a switching contact supported on the hinged armature, a counter contact cooperating with the switching contact, an adjusting part adjusting a contact distance between the countercontact and the switching contact when the armature is retracted and having at least one stretching zone extending substantially in a movement direction of the armature, the adjusting part forming a lever having a free end cooperating with the switching contact and another end anchored on the base plate, and an adjusting web provided with the stretching zone and engaging at a location between the ends with the adjusting part, so that by extension of the adjusting web to adjust the contact distance at the free end of the adjusting part.

  • Patent number: 4951017
Abstract: An electromagnetic relay comprising a magnet yoke having a coil core for supporting a relay winding and a support for supporting a folding armature at one end of the folding armature; and a leaf spring for biasing the folding armature away from the coil core in a non-operating position of the relay, the leaf spring including a curl surrounding the support and having two fastening portions at which the leaf spring is fastened to the magnet yoke and the folding armature, respectively, and a prestress area between the two fastening portions.

  • Patent number: 4926150
Abstract: An electromagnetic relay comprising a hinged armature pivotably supported at a front face of a coil core carrying a relay winding, a switching contact supported on the hinged armature, a fixed counter contact cooperating with the switching contact for actuating the electromagnetic relay, and contact carrier for supporting the fixed counter contact and having a first portion including a center leg and two outer legs arranged on opposite sides of the center leg in spaced relationship relative thereto, a crossbar connecting the center and outer legs at one end thereof, the center leg having at an end thereof spaced from the crossbar a bent-away portion for supporting the one fixed counter contact, the first portion further including in the vicinity of the bent-away portion of the center leg laterally symmetrically extending webs for connecting the center leg to the outer legs, respectively, the center leg having a stretchable portion located between the crossbar and the connecting webs for adjusting a posiiton o

  • Patent number: 4628290
Abstract: In order to define more precisely the pivot line (25) on which the armature (17) swings about the magnet yoke (12) at its line of contact therewith, the armature restoring spring (28) is made of spring wire (29) bent into meander shape. One end of it is attached to the magnet yoke and the other to an extension (31) of the armature that extends across the pivot line. A spring clip (34) is snapped over the restoring spring and onto the sides of the magnet yoke pushes the restoring spring against the magnet yoke and opposes lengthwise shifting of the armature across the edge (32a) on which it is pivoted.

  • Patent number: 4604598
Abstract: Reduced base plate dimensions are provided for an electromagnetic relay of the kind having a flap type armature by disposing the core which carries a spool and the winding therein perpendicular to the base plate with its free end spaced from the base plate sufficiently for the armature to swing between the free end of the core and the base plate, while being hinged in a seat at one end of the armature provided in the magnet yoke. Support for the magnetic system of the relay, which like the base plate assembly is a preassembled unit is provided by anchoring portions (29) of the magnet yoke which lie against the armature seat and are so set in the base plate when the two subassemblies are put together, that the free end of the core is in the position described. A leaf spring carrying the switch contact as an aperture stamped out in it for centering the armature. The switching path connections are very short and various details are provided to simplify assembly and adjustment of the relay in mass production.

  • Patent number: 4260973
Abstract: A relay capable of being assembled by machine and electrically connected by dip-soldering operations to metallic strips having prongs passing through an insulating base plate to provide plug-in connections, has metallic leads, lugs and strips preshaped so that when they are mounted in the base plate or the winding spool, as the case may be, pairs of them will interfit at locations where they are then soldered by dip soldering.
