  • Patent number: 4116441
Abstract: A moving goalie circuit is disclosed herein. The moving goalie circuit includes a first operational amplifier, having a linear feedback. A second operational amplifier is connected to the first operational amplifier. The second operational amplifier is an integrator. A relay is connected to the output of the second operational amplifier. The relay is selectively connectable to a timer for controlling position of a cursor or goalie image on a video screen. The first and second operational amplifiers produce a triangular wave which causes the timer to sweep repetitively the goalie image back and forth across a playing screen.

  • Patent number: 4114882
Abstract: A variable velocity control for playing images for video games is disclosed herein. The variable velocity control for playing images for video games includes a play condition sensor. A horizontal playing image velocity control is connected to the play condition sensor. The play condition sensor receives signals from other portions of the manually controlled electronic video display game indicative of the number of times a ball image has intersected a paddle image. The play condition sensor then supplies a signal, related to a total count of intersections which it has stored, to the horizontal playing image velocity control. The horizontal playing image velocity control, in turn, controls the horizontal speed of the ball image partially in response to the playing parameters of the game and partially in response to a manual switch closing affected by a player.

  • Patent number: 4015846
Abstract: A handicapping circuit for handicapping electronic visual games is disclosed herein. The handicapping circuit includes a plurality of input NAND gates, connected to a pair of counters. Each counter of the pair is connected to a logic gate. Each of the logic gates is connected to other portions of the game circuit. A first counter of said pair is incremented upon a first player's leading score differential. A second counter of the pair is incremented upon a second player's leading score. The logic gates are activated when either of their respective counters reaches a count of four or eight. The count of four or eight at either counter indicates that one of the players is leading the other player by four points or eight points. The signal received from the NOR gate is channeled to other portions of the game circuit, which increase the size of a paddle image controlled by whichever player is trailing.
