  • Patent number: 11618627
Abstract: A child-resistant assembly includes a collar member for coupling to a container. The collar member includes an upper wall, opposing passageways on the upper wall, opposing biasing members and a slide member integrally formed. The slide member extends longitudinally through the opposing passageways and includes a longitudinal slot and a pair of lateral slots formed along the longitudinal slot, with a stop member formed between the pair of lateral slots. The assembly also includes an intermediate member positioned on the collar member and includes a locking member extending downwardly therefrom. The locking member is configured to be positioned within each of the pair of lateral slots. In a rested state, the locking member is prevented from downward movement by the stop member. In an engaged state, the locking member can be positioned within a lateral slot and material from the container is capable of being discharged.

  • Patent number: 9706886
Abstract: According to the principles of the present invention a reclosable lid assembly is provided. The assembly is intended for covering a dispensing opening of flexible packaging for wet wipes. The assembly includes a main lid secured to the assembly and positioned above the dispensing opening. The assembly includes a break tab secured to the assembly by at least one breakable connector. In an initial position, the break tab covers part of the main lid to prevent the main lid from being opened by a user. A functioning position is achieved when the user applies a force to the break tab to break the breakable connector for allowing the break tab to be moved away from the main lid so that the main lid can be freely opened by a user.

  • Patent number: 7309227
Abstract: A polymeric injection mold has stationary and movable parts mating at a parting line. The polymeric part has one or more re-entrant surfaces on both sides of the parting line, wherein the re-entrant surfaces are defined by slide bar projections inserted into the mold. The slide bar projections are attached to slide bars that pass through tapered slots in the side walls of the stationary and movable sides of the mold and are inclined at an angle to the centerline of the mold. The slide bars of the stationary side of the mold are removably connected to pull bars, wherein the pull bars are rigidly attached at their opposite ends to the movable side of the mold. When the movable side of the mold is withdrawn, the injection molded part is pulled out of the stationary side of the mold when the slide bar projections clear the re-entrant surfaces.

  • Patent number: 6182860
Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing individual leaves of soap from a stack of leaves stored in the dispenser, includes top and bottom plastic case portions which are connected to and aligned by four pins extending from one container half into holes in the other container half. The pins are held in the holes by friction to hold the case portions together. A tool is used in a pry slot formed at the sides of the dispenser between the case portions, to pry the halves apart and open the case for replenishing the supply of leaves. The dispenser has an outlet slot with a length and width selected for dispensing one leaf at a time. A finger opening exposes part of the top surface of the stack near the outlet slot and is covered by reusable adhesive tape. The tape is partly removed to expose the finger opening and outlet slot so that a finger can contact the top leaf and eject it through the slot. The outlet slot has an upper lip overhang, over a lower lip of the outlet slot.

  • Patent number: 5908037
Abstract: The invention is a hermetically sealed compact. The compact has a base with a compartment having an open end and a cover pivotably connected to the base so that the cover is movable from an open position to a closed position with respect to the base. A tray is slidably disposed within the compartment in the base for limited vertical movement and the tray has a peripheral wall with an upper sized and shaped top surface. An operatively associated seal assembly between the cover and the base includes a sealing member such as a sized and shaped gasket is provided to match and mate with the upper sized and shaped top surface of the peripheral wall of the tray to form a hermetic seal therewith when the cover is moved to the closed position. A latch assembly is provided to releasably secure the cover to the base and to move the sealing assembly to form the hermetic seal.

  • Patent number: 5520305
Abstract: A two-piece safety cap for a container is disclosed. The safety cap comprises a collar and a corresponding cover arranged for movement between a locked position at which it cannot be removed from the collar and a removable position at which it may be readily removed therefrom. The cover and the collar may normally be arranged in frictional engagement so that rotation of one of the components causes rotation of the other. In order to overcome the normal frictional engagement between the collar and the cover, it is necessary to rotate one of the components while restraining movement of the other component.

  • Patent number: 5316162
Abstract: A two-piece safety cap for a container including a valve assembly having a valve rim thereon is disclosed. The safety cap comprises a collar having an inner surface and an outer surface and top and bottom portions. The collar is securably seatable on the valve rim so that the inner surface is arranged adjacent the valve rim. The bottom portion of the collar is sized and shaped so that the collar can be arranged on the valve rim regardless of the diameter of the barrel of the associated container without any interference occurring between the bottom portion of the collar and the container. The safety cap also comprises a cover adapted to be mounted between a removable position and a non-removable position on the collar. Additionally, a locking mechanism is arranged between the cover and the collar so that the cover can be selectively locked thereon.

  • Patent number: 5301808
Abstract: A cosmetic organizer for retaining a plurality of cosmetic products and cosmetic applicators within a housing is disclosed. The cosmetic organizer comprises at least one cosmetic applicator receptacle device for receiving and retaining corresponding cosmetic applicators therein. The receptacle device is movable between a retracted position at which it is retained within a housing so that it cannot be removed therefrom, and a projected position at which it is arranged at least partially outside of the housing and can easily be removed therefrom. An ejection device is arranged in the housing for forcing the cosmetic holding device from its retracted position to its projected position. A latch mechanism is used to secure the cosmetic holding device in its retracted position and to selectively permit the cosmetic holding device to move to its projected position. A sealing device is provided to prevent the cosmetic applicators from drying out when stored within the housing.

  • Patent number: 5282551
Abstract: A safety valve locking device is disclosed and includes a collar adapted to fit over a valve rim. A slide member is provided for selectively preventing and permitting the depression of an actuator head arranged on a valve stem to actuate a valve assembly of a pressurized container. The slide member includes a leading end and a trailing end and an aperture arranged therebetween through which the valve stem extends. The slide member is movable when pressure is applied or released from the trailing end thereof, between an occluding position at which the actuator head on a valve stem is misaligned with the aperture so that the valve stem cannot be depressed downwardly therethrough and a nonoccluding position at which the actuator head is aligned with the aperture so that the valve assembly can be actuated upon depression of the valve stem.
