  • Publication number: 20170001332
Abstract: A mold insert is disclosed for use in forming a structure cast in a form having a magnetic receptive portion. The mold insert includes a first mold insert member having a body portion and a first mating member. A second mold insert member includes a body portion and a second mating member. The first and second mating members are engageable to enable the first and second mold insert members to be configured in each of a joined configuration and an unjoined configuration. At least one magnet member is removably engageable to at least one of the first and second mold insert members. The magnet member, when engaged to the male insert member is configured for magnetically adhering to the form.

  • Publication number: 20160023374
Abstract: A composite member is provided for use with a mold for creating a feature in a product formed in the mold. The composite member includes a bend resistant first stiffener member and at least a first and a second magnet member. The first and second magnet member are configured for forming a magnetic current for magnetically coupling the composite member to the mold. The composite member also includes a composite body portion configured for substantially encasing the stiffener member and the first and second magnet member. The composite body portion includes a product engaging surface configured and positioned for defining a surface of the product formed in the mold.

  • Publication number: 20130161481
Abstract: An illustrative composite structure for magnetic coupling includes a non-rigid bendable, flexible and optionally easily bendable member such as urethane that is molded into a desired shape and embeds a pliable strip such as woven fiberglass and a series of spaced apart magnets positioned along the fiberglass strip. Some embodiments are formed to serve as magnetically coupling devices for forming voids in precast concrete, including a chamfer form, a magnetic coupler for frame and other shaped voids, and a magnetic coupler and protective plug for attachment channel inserts. Another embodiment provides coupling of other metallic objects, for example, holding of small loose parts in an abrasive blasting or other industrial processes.
