    Abstract: A dwell cam driver for advancing a horizontal slide into engagement with a workpiece to be formed in a stamping press. The driver has a pivoted anvil and the slide also has a pivoted anvil. When the driver moves downwardly, cam faces on the anvils interengage. The anvils slide relative to one another and pivot from an inclined position to advance the slide, and finally to a vertical dwell position to retain the slide in the advanced position.
