Abstract: A signing system in the form of a support staff, a flexible sign and a plurality of flag poles. One end of the respective poles being pivotally secured to the staff and an elongate, resilient foldable retaining member connected to the flag poles intermediate the ends thereof. Securing and positioning devices are provided for positioning the flag poles, wherein the flag poles can be moved from a storage position adjacent the staff to a display position only by stretching the retaining member.

Abstract: A sign support base comprising a staff base to which a plurality of plates are secured, the plates having pivotal legs secured thereto, the pivot means comprising a resilient mechanism for biasing the leg toward the plate and engaging means comprising a moveable pin resiliently biased outwardly from the leg for engaging in apertures in the plate, the legs, plates, pivot means and engaging means being so constructed that movement of the distal end of the leg disengages the resiliently biased pin from the apertures is disclosed.

Abstract: An integrated self-storing flag holder for flags on flagstaffs that have an elongate slot in the proximal end, comprising a main support plate having positioning means to engage the elongate slots and elongate fasteners extending through the slots to secure the flagstaffs in display position and to permit the respective flagstaffs to pivot to the storage position is disclosed.

Abstract: A sign stand and sign combination supported, when in use, by a pair of pivot leg assemblies secured along the bottom on the respective sides of the sign, each such assembly comprising a generally U-shaped leg having a generally linear center portion having formed therein a support locking aperture and a storage locking aperture, a leg support and a latch for engaging either the support locking aperture or the storage locking aperture for locking the leg either in a support position with the legs extending from the sign in a storage position with the legs substantially parallel to and adjacent the sign, is disclosed.

Abstract: A sign stand for supporting signs in windy environments includes a base, a lower staff portion secured to the base, and an upper staff portion for receiving a display sign. The sign stand includes a platform support having a bracket secured thereto. A platform connected to the upper staff portion is pivotally mounted upon the bracket so that the upper staff portion has a range of pivotal motion in a plane. A spring exerts a force to urge the platform toward the platform support and to control the deflection of the upper staff portion whenever a force is applied to the upper staff portion to tend to rotate the platform about the bracket.

Abstract: A flag staff holder for sign supports adapted to hold different size shafts comprising a conical socket with protuberences inwardly at levels therein is disclosed.
