Abstract: A fishing rod holder including a rod receptacle having a casing within which is rotatably mounted a cylinder both having lengthwise openings to receive a laterally inserted rod handle. The cylinder opening is closed by the casing upon cylinder rotation. A clamping assembly carries the casing and is positionable along a curved support member to vary rod inclination. The clamping assembly permits fore and aft movement of the rod tip to determine if a fish is on.
