  • Patent number: 5130696
Abstract: An arrangement for the generating or producing of sounds and, more particularly, a containment structure incorporating a sound-generating device which will be activated upon opening of the container structure so as to emit a preprogrammed sequence of sounds. In a more specific aspect, the containment structure may be constituted of a sealed beverage can; for instance, of the type which is widely distributed in the so-called soft drink or carbonated beverage industry, wherein the containment structure incorporates at least one compartment containing a sound-generating and emitting device which is activated upon the opening of the containment structure.

  • Patent number: 4265159
Abstract: A sound responsive color organ includes a transducer to convert sound to electricity, an amplifier to increase the level of electricity, and an automatic gain control that operates under the influence of a time dependent circuit to control the output level of the amplifier. The time dependent circuit operates at one rate when increasing the amplifier gain and at a second rate when decreasing the amplifier gain. A network is included to adjust the frequency response of the amplifier to predetermined limits. The amplifier output is used to control switching devices that turn on and/or off lights in a display located behind color masks. Located in front of the color masks is a lenticular surface which further affects the light sources to yield geometric patterns comprising the effect of the masks and the lens types.

  • Patent number: 4183080
Abstract: A blocking oscillator DC to DC converter includes a first transformer which is charged up and provides feedback to a switching transistor on one half of the cycle and discharges stored energy from the secondary during the second half of the cycle. To reduce switching losses the first transformer driven switching transistor is turned off by a control transistor disposed between the switching transistor base and ground, the control transistor being turned on and off according to the charge on a base capacitor charged by the first transformer. A second transformer may be included to control the power across a gap disposed to kill flying insects.

  • Patent number: 4065700
Abstract: A strobe light circuit adapted for use with a battery including a transformer and oscillator connected to charge a storage capacitor disposed across a discharge tube. A fourth winding in the transformer provides the trigger signal to the tube. By this arrangement the trigger pulse becomes progressively higher with increasing charge on the storage capacitor utilizing to best advantage the parameter relationships of the tube.
