  • Patent number: 6030426
Abstract: A lifting device for a portable air purifying unit that includes a rectangular main support member for supporting all the component parts of the unit so that they are balanced about the support. A housing comprising a top cover and front and rear covers is attached to the support for enclosing the unit. The top cover is coextensive with the top wall of the support and contains a raised partition that extends laterally across the cover. A hand-hold passes through the center of the partition that opens into an enclosure mounted on the cover in front of the partition. The hand-hold and the chamber combine to form a handle. The front cover of the housing passes over the handle to partially shield the handle thereunder.

  • Patent number: 6017375
Abstract: An air handling unit that includes a main support member and front, rear and top covers mounted on said support that forms a housing for enclosing said unit. The covers have side walls that close over the support frame in abutting contact to form an interlocking seam therebetween at closure. Ribs are mounted upon the side walls of the support frame which bias the side walls of the covers outwardly to render the seam relatively air tight at closure. Two covers are securely affixed to the main support member while the other is removably attached to the main support member by a latching means. A HEPA filter is mounted in the main support member along with a blower system for drawing air through said housing.

  • Patent number: 5392613
Abstract: A room air conditioner of the type having an indoor section and outdoor section which are supported by a basepan and separated by a partition. The indoor section includes an indoor fan and an evaporator. The cold evaporator condenses moisture from the air to be cooled. Means are provided to collect the condensate and to conduct it along a path from the indoor section, through an opening in the partition, at basepan level, to the outdoor section. The opening in the partition has a given height from the basepan which is sufficient to allow condensate flow, and a given width. A hood is provided adjacent to the opening on the outdoor side of the partition wall which extends from the top of the opening downwardly a distance less than the given height of the opening. The hood completely encloses the given width to thereby define a lower edge under which water or air must pass to pass through the condensate opening.
