    Abstract: A method is provided of teaching swimming to a non-swimmer or poor swimmer. The method includes teaching swimmers to use their natural buoyancy to overcome their fear of deep water. Upon losing the fear of deep water, it is easier to teach additional strokes and swimming techniques since the swimmers have confidence in their ability to be safe in deep water environments.
