  • Publication number: 20070119923
Abstract: A system and method for tokenless authentication. A customer can enroll with a customer identifier and by providing biometric samples. A customer checking, credit or debit account can be associated with the information provided by the customer. When the customer seeks to enter into a transaction, the customer provides his identifier and biometric information. The identifier can be used to locate the biometric information stored for the customer during enrollment. If the received biometric matches the stored biometric, the customer can be authenticated and the transaction approved.

  • Patent number: 5808037
Abstract: Oligomers which inhibit expression of a collagen gene are described. It is believed that each oligomer, when introduced into a cell, forms a transcription-inhibiting complex composed of the oligomer and the collagen-gene promoter region. The oligomer, preferably a phosphorothioate deoxyoligonucleotide, preferably binds in the antiparallel orientation to the polypurine strand of a polypurine-polypyrimidine region of the promoter region of a mammalian .alpha.1(I) collagen gene.

  • Patent number: 5221237
Abstract: A cylindrical member driven by a planetary gear arrangement traverses an epitrochoid path to periodically enter a radial slot in an arm or disc rotating the arm or disc through 180.degree.. By selecting the parameters appropriately the cylindrical member is caused to enter and leave the radial slot along a tangential path such that no first or second derivative discontinuities are present in the motion of the arm or disc. Several embodiments are disclosed for achieving either one or two incremental rotations of an output shaft for a single revolution of an input shaft with various speed reducing gear trains.

  • Patent number: 4221970
Abstract: Film drive mechanism for use with a panoramic X-ray machine which provides continuous and discontinuous radiographic images of dental arch areas of a shifting patient. The mechanism utilizes a linkage structure which carries a pair of shiftable cam followers which are separably engageable with cam members having working surfaces configured to advance or retard the speed of rotation of the linkage structure in accordance with mode of radiographing selected, i.e., continuous or discontinuous. A film drive shaft rotates in accordance with an output shaft connected to an output member of the cam-controlled rotating linkage structure which film drive shaft controls speed of rotation of a drum which has the X-ray film wrapped therearound.
