  • Publication number: 20090077858
Abstract: An improved method for overhead casting and retrieving a fishing jig and bait. The fishing caster provides a generally cylindrical, hollow body having a flat, closed top, a wall and an open bottom. The body presents a body axis from top to bottom. Drag upon reeling in is reduced by a plurality of elliptical vents formed in the wall, each vent presenting an elliptical axis substantially in alignment with the body axis, and by a cone within the hollow body, extending downwardly from the top. The improved fishing caster also includes structure forming a threading hole in the wall and two radially spaced indentations along the bottom of the body. The indentations form a tooth substantially aligned with the body axis, to secure the fishing line to the caster. A fluorescent lighting stick is mounted on top, for night fishing, as well as location of the caster in foliage.

  • Publication number: 20060015066
Abstract: A device for infusion or aspiration that includes a base and at least one needle positioned within the base, where the base includes one or more locators for positioning the infusion device in relation to one or more predetermined anatomical features. A device for infusion or aspiration that comprises a drive assembly and a plurality of needles positioned within the drive assembly. A method for performing infusion or aspiration that includes the steps of establishing the location of the surface of a bone using the tip of a needle and then driving the needle into the bone a predetermined distance from the established location of the surface of the bone.

  • Publication number: 20050267518
Abstract: A tourniquet includes a tensioning mechanism configured to provide a continuous range of adjustment of tension applied by the tourniquet. The tensioning mechanism includes a housing, an arbor coupled to the housing, the arbor being connected to the strap, and a crank assembly coupled to the arbor. The crank assembly includes a crank, and at least one gear mechanism coupled to the crank and to the arbor. In one embodiment, the at least one gear mechanism includes a worm shaft and a worm wheel. In another embodiment, the crank is movable between a use position and a stowed position. A method of restricting blood flow to a portion of a limb is further disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5491468
Abstract: An identification system with a reading device having a single turn transmission coil for continuously radiating alternating energy. A portable tag receives via a magnetic coupling, the energy from the reader and charges a storage capacitor to 5 volts. The capacitor is discharged rapidly during a time period less than the charging time period. This discharge of the capacitor powers a coded information transmission circuit during a small percentage of the duty cycle.

  • Patent number: 4394689
Abstract: A multiple channel cathode ray tube video display provides for adjusting brightness of the displayed channel by a single input control, such a trackball or keyboard, to a computer that generates a channel coded binary word that is held in one of a plurality of memory latches, each corresponding to a channel. The binary word is converted to an analog brightness signal that controls the gain of a corresponding one of a plurality of video signal amplifiers.

  • Patent number: 4104617
Abstract: A solid state control panel system utilizing optical coupling between a graphic control panel and a hand-held probe is disclosed. Separate light emitting control diodes and display diodes are utilized on the graphic panel. In response to a coded optical coupling between selected light emitting diodes on the panel and a light sensitive diode in the probe, various switching functions are performed. The system provides three different types of coding for each complete switching operation, namely, time coding, polarity, and pulse sequence coding. The probe includes means to inform the operator when proper optical coupling occurs; and is so constructed mechanically that it can be operated by pressure engagement with the panel, or as a gun. The system is structured to provide various types of switching functions, including the provision for selecting any one of a plurality of individual switches in its present state for display and control with each selected switch having a multiplicity of states.
