  • Patent number: 8058784
Abstract: An integrated reflector lamp (1) comprising an outer wall (3,9,13) enclosing a light source (6), a metal reflector (7), and an electronic power supply unit (4) to which the light source (6) is connected, wherein the reflector (7) extends between the light source (6) and the electronic power supply unit (4). Said outer wall (3,9,13) comprises a substantially conical portion (3) and a transparent portion (9) that covers the opening of said conical portion (3). The reflector (7) also covers the opening of said conical portion (3). The reflector (7) and the transparent portion (9) enclose the light source (6), the reflector (7) and the conical portion (3) enclose the electronic power supply unit (4).

  • Publication number: 20100134028
Abstract: A light source comprises a discharge lamp (LA), a bridge circuit for driving the discharge lamp and a reflector (RE). The bridge circuit comprises a capacitor (C1) coupled between a lamp connection terminal (T3, T4) and an input terminal of the bridge circuit (T1). EMI caused by the discharge lamp is suppressed by connecting a further capacitor (C2) between the lamp connection terminal and the reflector, so that a conductive path exists between the reflector and the bridge input terminal formed by both capacitors.

  • Patent number: 7180232
Abstract: Low-pressure mercury vapor discharge lamp comprises a light-transmitting discharge vessel (10) enclosing, in a gastight manner, a discharge space (13) provided with a filling of mercury and a rare gas. The discharge vessel comprises discharge means (20a; 20b) for maintaining a discharge in the discharge space. The discharge vessel is provided with a container comprising an amalgam (2). The container is provided with releasing means (4) for the controlled release of mercury vapor from the amalgam. The releasing means is open during lamp operation and is substantially closed when, during lamp operation, the temperature of the amalgam becomes higher than a pre-determined temperature. Preferably, the pre-determined temperature corresponds to a temperature of a range of temperatures at which the mercury-vapor pressure above the amalgam is relatively stable.
