  • Patent number: 6499739
Abstract: A restaurant theme board game and a method of play, includes a playing surface; a playing piece for each player, and a course to be traversed by the playing pieces. The course includes waitress stations, each player's playing piece occupying a respective station. Each waitress station includes tables wherein each player required to traverse the tables of its waitress station five times to complete five levels. Each level must be traversed within a predetermined period of time. Question cards must be answered by each player during that player's turn in order for the player's playing piece to proceed along tables of the player's station. Money awards are given for correctly answering the questions. The first player who completely traverses the tables for each level within the predetermined time period and accumulates more rewards than any other player, wins the game.

  • Patent number: 5995984
Abstract: A graphic screen including data in a table format is displayed in a window. The window implements a Zoom-In function using a Zoom-In display element. A user "Zooms-In" to any row in the table by selecting a row and activating the Zoom-In display element. While displaying the same window, activation of the Zoom-In display element hides the table and displays detailed information in a form format for updating the selected row of the table. The table is hidden and the form format is presented until the user activates a "Zoom-Out" display element, terminating the detailed information form format display and leaving the table display exposed. In the form format, the user performs functions including modifying data relating to a table entry, saving the modified or entered data, proceeding to the next row item, or regressing to the previous row.

  • Patent number: 5905496
Abstract: A workflow or product navigation system includes a single top-level screen which allows access to all aspects of the product information through selection of a single entry. The top-level screen includes a menu bar, a plurality of selectable icon push buttons in an icon area for directing inquiry to all aspects of the product information, and a product listing area. A user may select from several orderings of the icons to most efficiently access the product data. In particular, the icons are arranged in a preselected order as determined according to a business unit default definition. The user may select an alternative user-defined selection and ordering of icons, or a list of all icons in a predefined, fixed order. The icons on the top-level screen convey many details regarding the status of the product information. An icon, on its face, designates the user-access status of the information as read-write or read-only access. If a user has no access to information underlying the icon, no icon is displayed.

  • Patent number: 5892510
Abstract: A graphical user interface (GUI) application program has one or more screens and a number of objects hereinafter "field objects", each field object being uniquely associated with a single field in a screen. Each field object contains storage elements that hold data displayed in a screen's field. Each field object also contains storage elements that indicate functions that can be performed on data held in the field object. The field object may have at least three data member storage elements, one for holding data, another for holding a label, and yet another for holding a search operator. The GUI application program also includes field map storage elements, each of which maps a field in a screen to a corresponding column in the database, thereby allowing database queries to be created and performed dynamically on user entered field information. Such field map storage elements allow a database to be changed without affecting various parts, e.g. field objects and screen functions, of the GUI application program.

  • Patent number: 5743708
Abstract: Turbine stator vane segments have inner and outer walls with vanes extending therebetween. The inner and outer walls are compartmentalized and have impingement plates. Steam flowing into the outer wall passes through the impingement plate for impingement cooling of the outer wall surface. The spent impingement steam flows into cavities of the vane having inserts for impingement cooling the walls of the vane. The steam passes into the inner wall and through the impingement plate for impingement cooling of the inner wall surface and for return through return cavities having inserts for impingement cooling of the vane surfaces. The trailing edge is air-cooled.

  • Patent number: 5713722
Abstract: In a method of investment casting a turbine nozzle which includes an outer band, an inner band and an airfoil section extending between the inner and outer bands, an improvement including shaping a temporary wax form, and external shell and internal core components used in casting such that during pouring of molten metal into a space created by removal of the wax form, shell material lies on opposite sides of an outer fillet connecting the outer band to the airfoil section. The resulting gas turbine nozzle includes first and second horizontally oriented ribs extending about interior peripheries of the airfoil section vertically adjacent the outer and inner band fillets.

  • Patent number: 5391052
Abstract: The steam impingement cooling and retrieval system for turbine shrouds includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced housings about a turbine shroud, each housing being divided by an impingement plate defining first and second chambers on opposite sides of the housing. Steam supplied into a first chamber passes through a plurality of apertures formed in the impingement plate into the second chamber for impingement cooling of the shroud surface forming the opposite wall of the housing. Post-impingement steam passes from the compartment into a manifold for flow through and exhaust passage. In one form, a plurality of compartments are formed in the impingement plate. A first set of the plurality of compartments include through apertures for delivering steam from the first chamber into the second chamber.
