  • Publication number: 20140142961
Abstract: A machine, computer program product, and computer-implemented method for performing a process of managing clinical research data by collating a plurality of clinical patient records into a database system and a process of allowing particular clinical users to access the clinical research records.

  • Patent number: 7303883
Abstract: Detection of Plasmodium ssp. by analysis of extrachromosomal DNA. It has been found that the molecular composition, physical arrangements, and nucleotide sequences of the extrachromosomal plastid-like element and mitochondrial element are highly conserved in different Plasmodium ssp. The high degree of homology has been used to design genera-specific or species specific diagnostic assays with a low frequency of false negatives. Plastid and mitochondrial DNA sequences are disclosed. The use of the sequences is claimed for detection, prophylactic, and therapeutic treatment of Plasmodium ssp. infection in human or other animals.

  • Publication number: 20060234246
Abstract: The present invention provides polynucleotides, as well as polypeptides encoded thereby, that are differentially expressed in cancer cells. These polynucleotides are useful in a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic methods. The present invention further provides methods of reducing growth of cancer cells. These methods are useful for treating cancer.

  • Patent number: 5711984
Abstract: A method of reducing an equilibrium relative humidity level in an edible product comprising:applying a solution, incorporating a first humectant in a liquid form to the product whereby at least a part of the first humectant is absorbed into the edible product;applying a second humectant in a solid form to the product so as the second humectant absorbs residual moisture and is itself absorbed into the product; andwherein both the first and second humectants are effective in reducing the equilibrium relative humidity of the product to a predetermined level.
