Abstract: A golf club transportation device has an elongated tubular golf club bag which has an open top, a closed bottom, and an elongated substantially cylindrical golf club compartment. A support frame is rigidly fixed to the bag and includes a movable support mechanism to hold the bag substantially upright when the bottom of the bag engages a supporting surface. The support mechanism is movably secured to the support frame and is movable between an extended position holding the bag in an upright position, and a collapsed position generally parallel to the bag. A spring actuated control means is on the support frame and serves to move the support mechanism to an extended position when the bottom of the bag is out of engagement with a supporting surface. The wheels of the device are detachable so that the bag can use the support frame to hold it upright when the bag is in its carrying mode.
