  • Patent number: 11965664
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems, apparatuses, and methods for monitoring building efficiency by a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. In an aspect, an HVAC unit including a memory and a processor coupled with the memory is disclosed. The processor may be configured to establish a current building efficiency state value of a current run cycle of the HVAC system. The processor may also be configured to determine an building efficiency state deviation value based on a difference between an average building efficiency state value of a set of previous building efficiency state values and the current building efficiency state value. The processor may further be configured to determine whether the building efficiency state deviation value satisfies a building inefficiency threshold.

  • Publication number: 20230392812
Abstract: A control system of a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a data communication controller configured to receive, via a first wireless communication protocol, data from a sensor indicative of an operational parameter of the HVAC system. The data communication controller is also configured to receive, via an electronic device communicatively coupled to the data communication controller, a control instruction, and to transmit, via a second wireless communication protocol different from the first wireless communication protocol, a control signal to adjust operation of an HVAC component configured to enable supply of conditioned air to a structure serviced by the HVAC system based on the data and the control instruction.

  • Patent number: 11769118
Abstract: A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a controller associated with a residence. The controller is configured to determine an expected value range for an operating parameter of a component of the HVAC system. Additionally, the controller is configured to receive a signal from a sensor indicative of a current value of the operating parameter of the component and determine if the current value of the operating parameter is outside the expected value range. Based on the determination that the current value is outside the expected value range, the controller is additionally configured to initiate a diagnostic mode of the controller. In the diagnostic mode, the controller is configured to collect diagnostic data associated with the HVAC system.

  • Publication number: 20230235907
Abstract: A refrigerant leak detection system includes a sensor configured to detect a leaked portion of refrigerant external to a closed-loop refrigeration circuit of a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system, memory circuitry having instructions stored thereon, and processing circuitry configured to execute the instructions to perform various functions. The functions include receiving, from the sensor, sensor feedback indicative of the leaked portion of the refrigerant. The functions also include transmitting, based on the sensor feedback, a notification indicative of the leaked portion of the refrigerant to a third party security server.

  • Patent number: 11209181
Abstract: A heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) includes a processor and a plurality of sensors. The plurality of sensors can collect a first set of data indicative of environmental conditions of a structure in which the HVAC control device is located. The HVAC control device can control operational settings of an HVAC system that can supply conditioned air to the structure and operate the HVAC system in a default mode. The HVAC control device can also receive a second set of data collected by one or more sensors of a secondary input device and receive a signal from the secondary input device. Additionally, the HVAC control device can implement an override mode of the control device based on the signal. Implementation of the override mode effectuates a change in the operational settings of the HVAC system.
