Patent number: 10696098Abstract: Pneumatic vehicle tire includes a carcass, a belt with at least three belt plies arranged one on top of the other in a radial direction and being arranged radially outside the carcass and a profiled tread arranged radially outside the belt. The at least three belt plies include a radially inner belt ply and a radially outer belt ply are working plies having parallel strength members that are embedded in rubber so that, when viewed in a circumferential direction of the vehicle tire, the strength members of the radially inner belt ply have an opposing axial direction of inclination to the strength members of the radially outer belt ply. A generally zero-degree ply is arranged between and in contact with the two working plies.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2016Date of Patent: June 30, 2020Assignee: CONTINENTAL REIFEN DEUTSCHLAND GMBHInventors: Theresia Becker, Maike Schulte

Patent number: 10272628Abstract: A method for making a vehicle tire wherein the vehicle tire includes a belt having at least one belt layer made of parallel steel cords embedded in rubber. The belt ply is built up on a building drum in order to produce a tire blank. Upon completion of the tire blank, the tire blank is shaped and vulcanized in a vulcanizing press. The method includes applying the belt ply made of parallel, extensible steel cords embedded in rubber to a building drum to build up the belt. After the tire blank is completed, the tire blank is shaped and vulcanized in a vulcanizing press to reduce the extensibility of the steel cords.Type: GrantFiled: August 14, 2013Date of Patent: April 30, 2019Assignee: Continental Reifen Deutschland GmbHInventor: Theresia Becker

Patent number: 9481209Abstract: A pneumatic vehicle tire includes a carcass, a tire belt configured radially outside of the carcass and a profiled tread. The tire belt is formed of a plurality of tire belt plies, of which at least two tire belt plies are configured as working plies having parallel reinforcements made of steel and embedded in rubber, and having an angle of 10° to 24° with respect to the circumferential direction (U). The reinforcements of the one working ply have an axial direction of inclination opposite with respect to the reinforcements of the other working ply. The reinforcements of the first of the two working plies have an extendability D of D<0.2% at 10% of the breaking force, and the reinforcements of the second of the two working plies have an extendability D of D>0.2% at 10% of the breaking force.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 2013Date of Patent: November 1, 2016Assignee: Continental Reifen Deutschland GmbHInventors: Theresia Becker, Thomas Glasewald
