  • Publication number: 20230288342
Abstract: Hydrogen gas sensors with low cost, fast response time, large detection range, high sensitivity, and excellent limit of detection are described. The devices include a composite formed on a nano-scale that both absorbs hydrogen and exhibits magneto-optical effects. Sensor readout is based on magneto-optical effects, which also may be enhanced through plasmonic coupling. The hydrogen sensors are fast and sensitive, as well as resistant to surface poisoning from common contaminants, such as carbon monoxide.

  • Publication number: 20200384187
Abstract: A flexible tubing for a cannula has a hollow tubing body having a length dimension from a first end to a second end, and an outer diameter of no more than 0.9 mm. The tubing body has a section of enhanced flexibility of a greater flexibility than one or more other sections of the tubing body. The section of enhanced flexibility is spaced from the first end of the tubing body by a distance D, where D is within a range of 3.0 mm to 5.0 mm for a flexible tubing having a length of about 9.0 mm, and where D is within a range of 1.0 mm to 2.9 mm for a flexible tubing having a length of about 6.0 mm.

  • Patent number: 8588467
Abstract: An apparatus and method can effectively detect both hands and hand shape of a user from images input through cameras. A skin image detecting skin regions from one of the input images and a stereoscopic distance image are used. For hand detection, background and noise are eliminated from a combined image of the skin image and the distance image and regions corresponding to actual both hands are detected from effective images having a high probability of hands. For hand shape detection, a non-skin region is eliminated from the skin image based on the stereoscopic distance information, hand shape candidate regions are detected from the remaining region after elimination, and finally a hand shape is determined.

  • Patent number: 7060129
Abstract: The present invention provides a cement composition and a process for using the cement composition to inhibit gas migration from a subterranean zone into the cement. The process comprises displacing a gelling additive, preferably comprised within a cement composition, into a well bore such that the gelling additive passes into the subterranean zone, and allowing the gelling additive to form a crosslinked gel in the subterranean zone to inhibit gas migration from the subterranean zone. The crosslinked gel acts as a barrier to gas in the subterranean zone and thereby inhibits the gas from passing into the cement and forming flow channels therein before the cement can set.
