  • Patent number: 10089546
Abstract: A method of correcting charge values acquired from a capacitive fingerprint sensor, comprising acquiring a list of one or more defective capacitive sensor elements and for defective capacitive sensor element in the list, selecting its position as a first position and: performing a first operation by placing a first filter window about the first position and computing a replacement value for the first position from charge values within the first filter window, but forgoing computing a replacement value for the first position in case a first threshold number of defective capacitive sensor elements located within the first filter window is exceeded; in case the first operation forgo computing a replacement value for the first position, performing a second operation by placing a second filter window about the first position and computing a replacement value for the first position from charge values within the second filter window, but forgoing computing a replacement value for the first position in case a seco

  • Patent number: 7969936
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for improving the quality of control signalling based on signalling messages controlling speech or data transmission over an air interface between at least two radio terminals of a radio communications system, said speech or data being transmitted in at least one traffic channel of said radio communications system, and said signalling messages being transmitted in control channels associated with said at least one traffic channel. In order to allow for an improved performance of SACCH and FACCH, a first and a second signalling message with identical content are transmitted in two separate associated control channels. Alternatively, a signalling message included in a single ACCH is coded with a stronger coding. The invention relates equally to corresponding radio terminals and modules for such units.

  • Patent number: 7817679
Abstract: Transference of signaling frames on GERAN (GSM/EDGE radio Access Network) half rate channels utilizing a modulation scheme carrying n bits in one symbol. In order to be able to utilize the existing channel coding developed for channels with different modulations and to avoid high rate convolutional and block codes, the AMR signaling frame to be transferred is coded using a coding procedure defined for a GSM half rate channel utilizing a GMSK modulation scheme, the coding procedure outputting a coded output stream. In response to said coding, each bit of the coded output stream is repeated n times, whereby a repeated bit stream is obtained, and symbols to be transmitted are formed from the repeated bit stream.

  • Patent number: 7240270
Abstract: A method of transmitting inband signaling messages in a mobile telecommunications network using SACCH burst. In order to avoid puncturing a fixed amount of bits out of every SACCH burst for inband signaling, the 40-bit FIRE code of the SACCH is replaced with a shorter CRC code, thereby creating unused bits for carrying the messages. After the SACCH block is shortened, a plurality of dummy bits are inserted into the shortened block prior to applying a ½ convolutional code to obtain the coded block. The coded block is further interleaved, reordered and mapped into 4 SACCH bursts. The dummy bits in each SACCH block are then replaced by the inband signaling for transmission.

  • Patent number: 7006516
Abstract: A method and the corresponding devices are disclosed for transmitting control information on a control channel associated with a traffic channel. The traffic channel is determined to be either a full- or half rate channel or a quarter rate channel. As a response to determining the traffic channel to be a full- or half rate channel, a control information block of fixed size is transformed into a first number of control information bursts which are all transmitted. As a response to determining the traffic channel to be a quarter rate channel, a control information block of said fixed size is transformed into a second number of control information bursts, where said second number is smaller than the first number. Said second number of control information bursts are transmitted. It is checked, whether a retransmission is requested concerning said second number of transmitted control information bursts.

  • Publication number: 20040120302
Abstract: A communications system comprising a first station capable of communication with a second station over a wireless channel, data being carried over the wireless channel in superframes, each superframe comprising a plurality of frames and each frame comprising a plurality of timeslots; the system having: a first mode of operation in which a full rate data channel for circuit switched communications is defined by the allocation to that data channel of corresponding time slots in each frame; a second mode of operation in which two half rate data channels for circuit switched communications are defined by the allocation to each of those data channels of an equal number of corresponding time slots of frames in each superframe; and a third mode of operation in which four quarter rate data channels for circuit switched communications are defined by the allocation to each of those data channels of an equal number of corresponding time slots of frames in each superframe.
