  • Publication number: 20250102661
Abstract: A method for enabling unlocking an ultra-wide band (UWB) device in a communication system. The method includes, receiving a set of location parameters from a user; determining an unlockable range based on the set of location parameters and a map; receiving, in a lock mode, one or more location-indicative signals from an infrastructure of the communication system; computing a self-position on the map based on the one or more location-indicative signals; and determining whether the self-position is within the unlockable range.

  • Publication number: 20240275429
Abstract: A method for operating an ultra-wideband (UWB) device includes detecting the UWB device entering an access-controlled area that includes a gate configured to perform a UWB communication, retrieving an access token from an application server of the access-controlled area through a wireless communication other than the UWB communication prior to the UWB device entering a predetermined range of the gate, and transmitting the access token to the gate through the UWB communication after the UWB device entering the predetermined range of the gate.

  • Patent number: 10945118
Abstract: A communication system is disclosed in which a control node generates configuration data for each of a plurality of MMEs operating in overlay networks. The configuration data defines a type of user equipment (UE) or a type of UE traffic to be serviced by each MME. The MME configuration data is provided to a base station and used to control selection of an MME to service a request from a UE. The control node monitors network traffic within and across the overlay networks and can reconfigure one or more MMEs to service different UE traffic types. This allows for improved flexibility in load balancing with overlay networks.

  • Patent number: 10891456
Abstract: The present invention relates to a barcode reader comprising a casing, a pane, the pane and casing defining an interior volume; a reading head, and a light source that is able to emit light beams. Each light source and the pane are arranged so that all the transmitted light beams emerge from an outer face of the pane with an angle (?) smaller than or equal to 35 degrees with said outer face. An inner face of the pane includes a peripheral entry face for incident beams, each light source being arranged opposite said peripheral face with its illumination direction perpendicular to said peripheral face, said peripheral face being inclined with respect to a direction normal to a plate of the pane and making up an angle (?) strictly larger than 48.19 degrees with said normal direction.

  • Patent number: 10681753
Abstract: A system is disclosed in which a UE-Relay receives, from a user communication device, a message requesting the provision of a communication link (e.g. a Layer 2 link) between the user communication device and a network serving the user communication device. The UE-Relay communicates with its core network, responsive to the received message, to establish the communication link from the user communication device to a base station remote from the UE-Relay; and relays data, between the user communication device and the base station using the communication link.

  • Patent number: 10506554
Abstract: A communication system is disclosed in which a relay communication device identifies a service to be received by at least one other communication device and also identifies the at least one communication device. The relay communication device maintains a mapping between services and the communication device(s) that need to receive that service. The relaying communication device receives service data using a broadcast/multicast bearer and forwards, using a respective device-to-device bearer, the service data to each communication device for which a respective mapping to that particular service is maintained.

  • Patent number: 9980180
Abstract: A communication system (1) is disclosed in which a relaying user device (UE-R) (3-2) obtains bit rate information (e.g. aggregate maximum bit rate, AMBR) for relaying data for another (relayed) user device (UE) (3-1, 3-3). The obtention of said bit rate information may by receiving a message from the another (relayed) device, UE1, for registering the UE1 to an application server, AS (PSCC). The registration message may comprise UE1 identity, UE-R identity and information identifying a bit rate required by the UE1 while communicating via the UE-R (e.g. an AMBR parameter such as Relay-APN-AMBR). The UE-R sends the registration message received from the UE1 to a core network (7) node (e.g. a gateway device like a P-GW or S-GW, an MME, or a PCRF) comprising the information identifying a bit rate for relaying communication data for the UE (3-1, 3-3) to which the bit rate information relates.

  • Patent number: 9877261
Abstract: A communication system (1) is disclosed in which a core network node (11) generates configuration data including a first parameter for controlling data throughput (such as an aggregate maximum bit rate value) for a relaying user device (3-2) in dependence on whether or not the relaying user device (3-2) has a relaying connection with another user communication device (3-1, 3-3). The core network node (11) transmits the generated configuration data to another network node (5, 14) for managing communications with the relaying user device (3-2).

  • Patent number: 9594850
Abstract: A method and system for developing a computer-executable query relating to a search request issued by a user includes determining whether a search term of the search request has a user-specific meaning, connotation, context, or association based on an analysis of electronic content associated with the user and/or an analysis of interactions of the user with electronic content that is accessible to the user through one or more computing devices. If the search term has a user-specific meaning, connotation, context, or association, the method and system can incorporate the user-specific meaning, connotation, context, or association into the search request and/or the computer-executable query.
