  • Patent number: 5933986
Abstract: The sport boot comprises an upper and at least two reinforcing elements (21, 22) arranged medially and laterally in the area of the user's ankle. The lateral reinforcing element (22) extends higher along the ankle than does the medial reinforcing element (21). • Patent number: 5903984
Abstract: A sports boot, especially intended for the practice of gliding sports, made from an external sole adapted to be affixed onto a glide member and including an upper equipped with a stiff rear portion on which is laterally journalled a collar adapted to surround the lower part of the user's leg, such collar extending upwardly from its lateral journal. The collar is capable of pivoting towards the rear about its journal against the energizing return device interspersed between the collar and the upper, wherein the return device includes a substantially semi-circular upper arm, anchored laterally by each of its ends on the collar, and a lower portion connected to the upper arm and in abutment against a lower abutment of the upper.

  • Patent number: 5899006
Abstract: The present invention relates to a sole, especially for a sport bdot, adapted to sports that require a foot movement or to gliding sports. The sole, especially an external sole, is constituted by a front part and a rear part. The rear part covers at least the base of the heel zone and is rigid and substantially non-flexible. Preferably, the rear part extends substantially up to the so-called metatarsophalangeal bending zone. The present invention also relates to a method for manufacturing a sole, especially a sole such as described hereinabove. In addition, it relates to a boot having a sole such as described hereinabove.

  • Patent number: 5884420
Abstract: The present invention relates to a boot especially adapted to sports that require movement of the foot, or to gliding sports, including an upper provided with a rear stiffener surrounding the heel and an external sole. According to the invention, the stiffener is rigid and substantially non-flexible, and extends along at least one side of the boot, up to the so-called metatarsophalangeal bending zone. According to a second aspect of the invention, the stiffener is rigid and substantially non-flexible, and surrounds the heel and essentially the rear portion of the base of the foot, in the manner of a shell. This construction also allows for a better transmission of the forces, while maintaining a flexibility of the boot in the metatarsophalangeal zone, due to the reinforcement of the rear portion of the boot. These constructions permit a better control of the ski through the heel retention and, at the same time, a general gain of energy by eliminating the parasitic deformations of the sole and of the boot.

  • Patent number: 5704138
Abstract: Sport shoe, in particular for mountain hiking, of the type comprising an outer sole (2) on which an external upper (3), open to the front to allow insertion of the foot (4) and capable of being closed over the latter by a closing system, is mounted. The shoe comprises an internal tightening device (8) designed to ensure position-retention of the foot (4) inside the shoe (1) and acting on the foot (4) independently of the external upper (3), which is designed to ensure protection of the foot (4).

  • Patent number: 5566475
Abstract: A boot that includes an outer sole, a stiffener surrounding the heel, a vamp, as well as a lining made of an elastic material extending over the top of the front-foot inside vamp, the vamp and the stiffener being assembled to the outer sole in a peripheral assembly zone of the sole. In accordance with the invention, the elastic lining does not have a base and is fixed by its lower peripheral edge to the outer sole, in the peripheral assembly zone of such sole, and lining is fixed at the rear, on each side of boot to the rear stiffener.

  • Patent number: 5566474
Abstract: A sport boot including an upper equipped with an opening to enable passage of the foot, and further including an internal quarter and an external quarter connected with respect to one another by a lace or cable in connection with a blocking device or blocker, along a determined alternate path around return elements arranged on either side of the opening. The ends of the strands forming the lace are rendered integral with two fixed anchoring points obtained in a lower end zone of the lacing located towards the front of the boot, the strands mutually forming a free loop at their opposite end, adapted to constitute a single gripping element to exert a traction along a force distributed symmetrically along each of the strands from both fixed points.

  • Patent number: 5537763
Abstract: Flexible sports boot including a closing system, provided with a device for memorizing its tightening tension, including an opening and closing system by lacing comprising a link forming a closed circuit integrating tightening and latching device and connecting to each other, along a predetermined path, a series of return elements located in a fixed manner on either side of the quarters of upper, wherein the opening and closing system of the upper includes, in addition, a progressive adjustment device for relocating an optimum reference tightening tension of link, during its latching command, the adjustment device being independent of the tightening and latching device so as to enable the memorizing of the reference tightening tension, the tightening being undertaken only by the tightening and latching device, which can be rendered detachable from a fixed complementary gripping portions obtained on upper, so as to obtain a greater unlacing amplitude of link during opening, without affecting the adjustment of
