Abstract: A safety stirrup for horse riding has a buckle (1) designed to be attached to a stirrup leather, a stirrup having an overall arch shape in which a rider inserts a foot in an insertion direction substantially perpendicular to the plane containing the arch, with a tread on the lower portion onto which a rider can place his foot, and at least one lateral branch (21, 22) linking said tread to a head (23) of the stirrup, and a device for attaching the head (23) of the stirrup to the buckle (1) that is designed to enable the stirrup to detach completely from the buckle (1) in the event of a fall.

Abstract: An assembly includes a shoe and a plate retaining the shoe on an automatic bicycle pedal. The plate fixed under the shoe sole includes front and rear connecting elements cooperating with attachment elements on the pedal. The plate has a front part bearing the front connecting elements and a rear part bearing the rear connecting elements. The front and rear parts, fixed independently of each other under the sole, are mounted to be separated from each other by a flexing area extending between a front fixing location of the front part and a rear fixing location of the rear part. There is a bearing surface in the flexing area to substantially fill the space between the front and rear fixing locations to enable: the front and rear parts to effect a pivoting movement relative to each other when flexing the sole, and the bearing surface to bear on the pedal.

Abstract: Upwards motion of a shutter tends to close a regulation passage controlling the flow rate to be regulated, which motion is driven by a piston under drive from a driving pressure drop that increases with increasing flow rate. According to the invention, the shutter is constituted by a tube whose top edge delimits the regulation passage, with the driving pressure drop appearing on the flow passing around the piston. The invention is particularly applicable to irrigation.

Abstract: The gate of the present invention regulates the level of a downstream reach (4) by means of a sector-shaped plate (1) carried by a frame (6, 7) that oscillates about a axis (5) and that also carries a float (8) dipping into said reach. Substantially neutral equilibrium is obtained at a reference level by raising the center of gravity above the oscillation axis, and the reference level is adjusted by transferring water between two longitudinally offset tanks (11, 13). The invention is particularly suitable for irrigation networks.
