  • Publication number: 20160272457
Abstract: A folding module (13) intended for a machine (1) for producing mailing covers, comprising two counter-rotating folding rollers (18a, 18b) defining a zone (ZR) for receiving at least one envelope document, an entry zone (20) and an exit zone (ZS) from which the envelope document, folded according to a predefined folding line, exits. A pushing mechanism (22) is movable in translation perpendicularly to receiving zone (ZR) between a passive position and an active position in which the pushing mechanism (22) moves the envelope document from the receiving zone (ZR) into the entry zone (20). A pushing roller (22?), mounted free in rotation at the end of the pushing mechanism (22), accompanies, in the active position, the envelope document (4) without sliding until the envelope document enters into contact with one of folding rollers (18a, 18b) thus ensuring high folding accuracy.

  • Publication number: 20160250880
Abstract: A method for producing mailing covers from either a strip (101) or a sheet (104) of material, each mailing cover (32) comprising printed content documents (3) and a printed envelope document (2). During the method, cutting the content documents (3), stacking them in a bundle and folding them in the format of the mailing cover, cutting and creasing the envelope documents (2), folding side flaps (22) of the envelope document (2) on the folded content documents (3), applying glue on side flaps (22) and/or on back (24) of the envelope document (2), folding the envelope document (2) in two around the folded content documents (3), laterally closing the envelope document (2) by glueing the back (24) on the side flaps (22), and then applying glue on closing flap (21) and folding the closing flap back (24) of envelope document (2) to transversely close and thus complete mailing cover (32).

  • Publication number: 20160084823
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and kits for testing the genotoxicity of an agent. In particular, the present invention provides a global assay for the measurement of genotoxic stress based on p53 target gene induction.

  • Publication number: 20080308993
Abstract: A collating method, particularly for a continuous production line of mailing covers that makes it possible to simultaneously collate the documents to be folded and their envelope and fold them in order to obtain a mailing cover finished in a single pass. The method includes, during the collating step, that the documents (1) to be enclosed are stacked and then advanced at a predetermined pace (P). The envelope (2) is next stacked such that the envelope (2) at least partially covers the documents (1) and the envelope (2), which are offset and carried away at the predetermined pace (P) toward a folding area. The collating method is for use in production lines for mailing covers of the like.

  • Publication number: 20080172145
Abstract: A method for producing unique and personalized pieces of mail, including integrating envelope production with the production of the documents for insertion within the envelopes. The machine for producing the pieces of mail includes a device for producing, from the same width of paper, both the documents and the envelopes designed to contain the documents. A longitudinal cutting device cuts the documents to the correct width and forms the flaps of the envelopes. A transverse cutting device separates the documents from the envelopes and cuts them to the correct length. A device assembles the documents with the corresponding envelope. A gluing and folding device closes the envelope while a central processing unit regulates at least the cutting devices, according to the number and format of the documents, and the stuffed envelopes to be produced.

  • Publication number: 20080115641
Abstract: The invention concerns a device for cutting, from a width of continuously conveyed material, a variable longitudinal profile in a controlled, irregular sequence, which nevertheless remains a simple, economical, easily implemented and configured device responsive to high speed production requirements. The cutting device has a pair of cutting tools cooperating with an elongate counter-cylinder extending perpendicular to the direction the width of material is conveyed. The cutting tools are movable along two axes from the frame: a rotational axis, perpendicular to the counter-cylinder so as to modify the cutting angle of each cutting tool, and a translational axis parallel to the counter-cylinder so as to modify the distance between the cutting tools. Each cutting tool is connected with a rotational and a translational drive mechanism which are controlled by a central processing unit according to a cutting line with a variable profile and in a given irregular sequence.

  • Patent number: 5744303
Abstract: A method for determining whether an individual, i.e., a human, carries a mutation in a gene which encodes a transcriptional regulator (e.g., a tumor suppressor). The method includes the steps of obtaining a nucleic acid sample comprising cDNAs encoding both alleles of the gene from a cell sample from the individual; providing a nucleic acid construct comprising a binding site operably linked to DNA encoding a detectable protein such that transcription of the DNA encoding the detectable protein is regulated by interaction of the transcriptional regulator polypeptide with the binding site; transfecting the nucleic acid sample and the nucleic acid construct into cells with low levels of the transcriptional regulator polypeptide; and then determining the levels of the detectable protein in the transfected cells, this level being correlated with the presence of a mutation in at least one of the alleles of the gene.
