  • Publication number: 20220278385
Abstract: A detection device for detecting a thermal runaway condition in a rechargeable automotive traction battery that includes a closed traction battery housing for receiving at least a plurality of rechargeable electrochemical energy cells and being equipped with a safety relief valve. The detection device includes a force-sensing resistor. The force-sensing resistor has flexible substrates separated by a spacer member and defining a force-sensitive area, and a venting duct connecting a space between the two substrates and a vent outlet. At least the force-sensitive area of the force-sensing resistor is placeable inside the traction battery housing, and the vent outlet is fluidically connectable to a detection region of an interior space of the traction battery housing which is located in the vicinity of the safety relief valve.

The detection device includes a force-sensing resistor. The force-sensing resistor has flexible substrates separated by a spacer member and a vent outlet. The vent outlet is fluidically connectable to an exterior space of the traction battery housing if the force-sensing resistor is located inside the traction battery housing. At least one of the flexible substrates is operatively connectable to an interior space of the traction battery housing if the force-sensing resistor is located outside the traction battery housing.

  • Publication number: 20200050874
Abstract: A car interior surveillance unit includes a detection unit for detecting a presence of a living human being or a living animal being in the passenger cabin of a car, a telecommunication unit for establishing a wireless telecommunication link to a remote telecommunication participant, an electric power supply unit including at least one rechargeable battery for providing electric power in at least one operational mode of the car interior surveillance unit, an electric power monitoring device for monitoring a presence of electric power at the electrical connection point and an electronic control unit that is configured for controlling operation of at least the detection unit and the telecommunication unit at least on the basis of a detected absence of electric power at the electrical connection point and a detected presence of a living human being or a living animal being in the passenger cabin.
