  • Publication number: 20240137702
Abstract: A method for determining a direction of at least one sound source using an audio system capturing by an array of microphones sound emitted by the at least one sound source. The method includes: emitting a sound by way of the at least one sound source; recording sound signals received by the array of microphones; executing cross-correlations between the received signals in order to deduce relative times of arrival therefrom; creating a sinusoidal function of time having a determined frequency and a phase offset dependent on the relative times of arrival; and computing to determine a direction value of the sound source in a spatial reference frame defined by the array of microphones, using the values computed from the sinusoidal function of time at input, presenting the direction value.

  • Patent number: 7292171
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and device for the conversion of digital signals comprising a phase involving modulation with the aid of a vector lattice encoder. The inventive method comprises iterative steps which are performed on N output candidates, consisting in filtering (Hx, Hq), determining the difference between the filtered signals calculating two possible evolutions for said options, pre-selecting the candidates that minimise the difference, weighting the difference with a cost function (W), marking the candidates eliminated for a subsequent iteration, and selecting the best candidate over a period determined by a historical decision dimension. The invention also relates to the use thereof in relation to a digital audio signal amplifier.

  • Publication number: 20070252730
Abstract: The method and network-based system allow transferring information, particularly audio information from a centralised source unit (1), particularly an audio source unit, in digital form over a network (2) to at least one destination unit (3), particularly to an audio destination unit, in which the transferred data are further processed to provide an analogue signal; comprising the steps of a) providing in the centralised source unit (1) a first digital signal, such as a PCM signal, that has been derived from a first analogue signal; b) forwarding the first digital signal in the centralised source unit (1) to the input of a modulator (131), which transforms the first digital signal into a second digital signal that consists of a bit stream, whose mean-value represents the information contained in the first digital signal; c) transferring the second digital signal over said network (2) to the destination unit (3); and d) forwarding the second digital signal in the destination unit (3) to a low pass filter (33)

  • Patent number: 7259700
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of converting sampling conversion with a predetermined ratio between an input frequency (Fsin) and an output frequency (Fsout). It comprises an initialization phase (40-44) of selective configuration, according to the conversion ratio, of an under-sampling filter and a band-pass filter, and a real time phase comprising the stages of selective over-sampling (45), over-sampling by a factor of two and selective band-pass filtering (46), over-sampling by a factor of sixty four (47) and polynomial interpolation of the quadratic “B-Spline” type (48). The invention also relates to a device (4) for implementation of the method.
