  • Publication number: 20160018373
Abstract: There are provided methods for analyzing air including monitoring the air. For example, monitoring the air includes electronically sensing the air and determining whether an event in the air is occurring based on at least the electronically sensing. If an event is occurring, a sample of the air is collected for a further analysis. For example, the analysis is carried out to identify components present in the sample. There are also provided systems for analyzing air comprising : an air intake; an electronic sensor and a controller configured to monitor the air. Monitoring air includes controlling the air intake, controlling the electronic sensor to electronically sensing the air and determining whether an event in the air is occurring based on at least the electronically sensing. If an event is occurring, a sample of the air is collected for further analysis (e.g. to identify components present in the sample).

  • Patent number: 9028751
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for dynamically controlling odor emission. The system comprises an odor measurement tool, a weather condition measurement tool, a processing module and a controller. The odor measurement tool is adapted to measure an odor level. The weather condition measurement tool is adapted to measure at least one weather condition. The processing module is adapted to calculate an odor emission threshold based on the measured odor level, the at least one weather condition, an atmospheric dispersion model and a predetermined remote odor level threshold. The controller is adapted to control the odor emission below the odor emission threshold.

  • Publication number: 20100180667
Abstract: There is provided a method for detecting at least one odor in a gas sample, the method comprising at least partially reducing an amount of water present in the gas sample; and detecting the presence or absence of at least one odor in the sample. There is also provided a method for reducing losses of sensitivity of at least one gas sensor adapted to detect and/or measure at least one odor in a gas sample, the method comprising at least partially reducing an amount of water present in the gas sample before contacting the sample with the at least one sensor. Apparatuses for detecting and/or measuring odors in a gas sample are also provided.

  • Patent number: 6288295
Abstract: A novel catalyst comprises at least one support and at least one metal from group VIII or the periodic table e.g. palladium and is characterized in that the metal particles deposited on the support are not isolated from each other, e.g. at least 50% of the particles have a point of contact with one other particle.
