  • Patent number: 10639435
Abstract: The present document describes a flow measuring apparatus for measuring the air flow through a section of an inhalation apparatus, and for measuring the drug delivery by inhalation using an inhalation apparatus. The flow measuring apparatus comprises a set of Pitot tubes configured for traversing entirely the lumen of the section of an inhalation apparatus. The set of Pitot tubes comprises a first and second Pitot tube which are respectively fluidly connected to a differential pressure sensor, for measuring a difference between a stagnation pressure and a static pressure within the flow measuring apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20180126099
Abstract: The present document describes a flow measuring apparatus for measuring a flow of particles through a section of a fluid dispensing apparatus, comprising at least one photo-detection device comprising a light source and a detector, wherein the light source is configured to emit electromagnetic radiation onto the detector along a light path, wherein the detector is configured to measure disturbance of the electromagnetic radiation by the flow of particles to provide measurements of the presence, mass and velocity of particles within said section of a fluid dispensing apparatus. Also described is an inhalation apparatus for drug delivery by inhalation comprising a flow measuring apparatus of the present invention.

  • Publication number: 20170119986
Abstract: The present invention relates to a face mask for inhalation, suitable for delivering a therapeutic gas or molecule as part of a treatment by inhalation. In particular, the invention relates to a mask (M) including a body (C), a wall (P1, P2, P3) of which defines an inner space (Vi) intended for engaging with a portion of the face of a user, including the nose and mouth thereof, the body (C) having a first opening (O1) which is in communication with a means (R1) for connecting to a source of a therapeutic gas or molecule, and a second opening (O2) surrounded by a lip (L1) intended to be placed against said portion of the face of the user, characterised in that said mask comprises a sealing partition (C1) which defines, in the inner space (Vi), an upper chamber (B1) intended for accommodating the nose of the user and a lower chamber (B2) containing said first opening (O1) and intended for accommodating the mouth of the user while said mask is being worn.

  • Publication number: 20150047635
Abstract: The invention relates to a valve (300) comprising a base (301) in the form of a ring defining a central opening (309), as well as an upper surface (302) and a lower surface (303), both of which are planar and converge toward each other from the base (301) in the direction opposite said base, and characterized in that the upper and lower surfaces (302, 303) together form an angle (Ang) of at least 60°, and in that the free edges (304, 305) thereof define a slit (306) which is open when the valve is at rest.

  • Publication number: 20110132359
Abstract: The invention relates to an inhaling device, especially for administration of inhaled treatments for management of bronchopulmonary disorders, comprising a substantially tubular, axial reservoir that delimits an inhaling chamber, of which a first end is joined to a dosing aerosol containing an active principle, and of which a second, opposite end is joined to a means for delivering the treatment, especially a mouthpiece or a face mask, and the reservoir comprises at least a first wall that can move between a compact position and a deployed position, in such a way as to allow said reservoir to adopt a first position, in which it occupies a reduced volume for transport thereof, and a second position, in which it is deployed in a substantially rigid form for use thereof.
