Abstract: A drive for a vehicle includes a first electric motor, a second electric motor, and a planetary gear train to couple the first and second electric motors. The planetary gear train has a sun wheel mounted on a drive shaft, and a ring gear mounted on a drive shaft. The drive shaft of the sun wheel is hereby coupled with the first electric motor, and the drive shaft of the ring gear is coupled with the second electric motor. An axle drive unit is operably connected with wheels of the vehicle and coupled with planet wheels of the planetary gear train. Sun wheel and ring gear are rotatable in opposite directions in a startup phase. As a result, the electric motors are operated in a characteristic mapping range with higher torque before the start, thereby positively affecting the acceleration of the chassis when changing the relative rotation speed.
