  • Patent number: 11601754
Abstract: An audio system for a vehicle may include: an audio signal processing system arranged to process a plurality of audio channels and generate a principal signal and an accommodating signal for each of the plurality of audio channels; an array of loudspeakers including at least two pairs of loudspeakers, each of the at least two pairs of loudspeakers including a front loudspeaker and a rear loudspeaker; wherein the loudspeakers of the array are positioned such that a first line connecting acoustic centers of a front loudspeaker and a rear loudspeaker of a first pair of loudspeakers is angularly displaced relative to a second line connecting acoustic centers of a front loudspeaker and a rear loudspeaker of a second pair of loudspeakers; and wherein the audio signal processing system is arranged to provide a principal signal of a first audio channel among the plurality of audio channels to the front loudspeaker of the first pair of loudspeakers, provide an accommodating signal of the first audio channel to the rea

  • Publication number: 20220078569
Abstract: A method for providing audio in a vehicle includes: providing a plurality of audio channels comprising a first audio channel and a second audio channel; processing, by an audio signal processing system, each audio channel of said plurality of audio channels to establish a principal signal and an accommodating signal for each audio channel of said plurality of audio channels; supplying said principal signal of said first audio channel to a forward loudspeaker of a loudspeaker pair and supplying said accommodating signal of said first audio channel to a backward loudspeaker of the loudspeaker pair to generate a forward directional radiation pattern based on said first audio channel; supplying said principal signal of said second audio channel to said backward loudspeaker of said loudspeaker pair and supplying said accommodating signal of said second audio channel to said forward loudspeaker of said loudspeaker pair to generate a backward directional radiation pattern based on said second audio channel; and guid

  • Patent number: 8009857
Abstract: An audio loudspeaker having an induction motor whose yoke components are formed of powdered iron or other material which is highly magnetically permeable and highly electrically resistive. The oscillating magnetic flux caused by the alternating current applied to the primary coil induces eddy currents in the shorted turn secondary coil but not in the yoke components. This reduces heating of the yoke components, reduces flux modulation, and reduces wasted power.

    Filed: February 15, 2007
Date of Patent: August 30, 2011
    Assignee: Wisdom Audio Corp.
Inventors: Jack T. Bohlender, Thilo Christian Stompler, David J. Graebener, David J. Michno, Robert M. Smith
