Patent number: 7633205Abstract: In order to be able to electric drives in very tight installation spaces, e.g. in propulsion vehicles or machine tools, an electric machine (1) is proposed having a stator and a rotor (28), with the laminations (2) of the stator have axial slots (4) and teeth (5, 6) extending between adjacent slots (4) in direction air gap. At least a predefined number of the teeth (6) is configured as a single-tooth winding (7), and at least one section (3) is provided in circumferential direction of the stator and is designed without slots but follows the contour of the stator bore (11) in the area of the air gap.Type: GrantFiled: November 22, 2004Date of Patent: December 15, 2009Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Thilo Hoffmann, Andreas Jöckel

Publication number: 20090234548Abstract: The invention relates to a holding brake for track-bound motor vehicles (1) with the holding brake being realized by means of at least one electric machine (2) which has a rotor and a stator. A control system for the electric machine is hereby provided to so control the operation of the electric machine (2) that the position of the rotor in the stator remains constant when exposed to an external torque. In other words, the electric motor (2) is used as holding brake instead of a pneumatic holding brake. In this way, the holding brake is advantageously not subject to any wear since the holding forces are produced magnetically and not by mechanical forces. In addition, no noise is generated by the use of the holding brake according to the invention. Furthermore, a starting jolt is prevented, when the electric motor (2) used as a holding brake is also used as a drive motor.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2006Publication date: September 17, 2009Applicant: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Hans Bergner, Thilo Hoffmann, Andreas Jöckel, Martin Teichmann

Publication number: 20040011578Abstract: The invention relates to a drive for a wheel set (1) of a chassis, with the wheel set having two wheels (3) positioned on a wheel set shaft (2), which can be driven by at least one internal rotor motor that encompasses the wheel set shaft (2) and has a stator (10) and a rotor (19). This configuration provides a compact direct drive.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 25, 2003Publication date: January 22, 2004Inventors: Thilo Hoffmann, Andreas Jockel, Martin Teichmann
