  • Patent number: 11958009
Abstract: A filter device for ambient air filtration has a blower housing with air inlet and air outlet. A device for generating an air flow is arranged in the blower housing and generates an air flow in operation from air inlet to air outlet. A flexible air conducting hose is provided with a first open end connected to the air outlet of the blower housing and with a second closed end. The flexible air conducting hose has openings arranged between first open end and second closed end. Filter elements are arranged in the openings, respectively. The filter elements separate a raw side inside the air conducting hose from a clean side downstream of the filter element. The air conducting hose is inflated in operation of the device by the air flow. The flexible air conducting hose has a reduced air permeability compared to the air permeability of the filter elements.

  • Patent number: 4898426
Abstract: To make the passenger seat for the airplane as light as possible while satisfying safety requirements, some or all the essential components are made with a sandwich-like structure, especially from sandwich panels. • Patent number: 4805291
Abstract: A mold component for forming a member consisting of a nondevelopable surface, such a member being an airfoil such as a wing or the like, is provided with an interior cavity in the shape of a developable surface which approximates the nondevelopable surface. In forming the mold cavity, points of equal tangential inclination on the non-developable surface are joined by straight lines and then the areas between the straight lines are formed as flat planar surfaces, thereby to form a developable surface which is an approximation of the nondevelopable surface. A flat planar development is then formed from this developable surface and bends are made therein at the straight lines in order to form thereby the mold cavity. A substantial number of said bends extend non-parallel to each other and none of the bends intersect.

  • Patent number: 4589679
Abstract: A safety steering column made of wound fiber-reinforced synthetic material s manufactured economically and simply, yet simultaneously with due regard to its deformation characteristics in response to axial compressive overloading under various operating conditions. For this purpose the steering column is wound as a rotationally symmetrical tubular body having five component integral sections (3, 4, 5, 6, and 7). The component sections (3 and 7) are relatively thick-walled connecting tubes to provide a torque input section and a torque output section provided with connectors (8) for steering wheel hub and for a steering mechanism. An intermediate section (5) of the steering column is a cylindrical, relatively thin-walled tube with a larger diameter (d.sub.2) compared to the connecting sections. Conical transition sections (4 and 6) preferably extend between the intermediate section and the connecting tubes or sections.

  • Patent number: 4549726
Abstract: A mounting member for mounting an engine or transmission on a supporting ucture of a motor vehicle, is constructed as a one piece integral component made of fiber compound material in which the fiber layers have defined, preselected orientations. The damping characteristics can be optimally tuned for specific types of use or vehicles by controlling the materials and orientation of the fibers in each layer, and by controlling the number of layers. Additional damping may be achieved by inserting an elastomeric intermediate layer between the individual fiber layers. The shape of the mounting member also varies according to the load or stress to which the member will be exposed in use. The available space and the type of motor vehicle in which the member will be used are also taken into account in determining the shape, cross-sectional configuration and other structural details of the mounting member.

  • Patent number: 4525005
Abstract: A vehicle bumper bar is made of at least one completely closed box shaped dy wound of fiber-reinforced synthetic resin impregnated strands or bands with a fiber orientation that may vary along the length of the bar and also from one wall of the box shape to the other. Several bodies of closed cross-section may be bonded together, for example by the resin curing, to form a single integral body of approximately square configuration. Towing elements may be integrated directly into the bar.

  • Patent number: 4434580
Abstract: The present car door has an interior panel forming simultaneously a frame, nd an exterior panel. Hinges and a lock base plate are secured to the frame. Two supporting rails are pivotally secured to the frame. One rail extends substantially horizontally between the upper hinge zone and the lock base plate. The other rail extends at an angle relative to the one rail from the lower hinge zone to the lock base plate. A cable which is expandable in a nonreversible manner extends at least along one of the rails, preferably along the horizontal rail. The cable has a loop at each end. A bolt which also journals the respective rail end to the frame extends through the respective loop of the cable.

  • Patent number: 4428157
Abstract: The present door, such as a motor vehicle door, has a central member extending from the hinges to the lock. The central member carries an interior and an exterior door panel. The central member is a body of compound synthetic hard foam material having embedded therein an energy absorbing element. Additionally, the central member is encased in two shells. This structure is lightweight and yet stiff against shearing and torsion loads as well as impact forces.

  • Patent number: 4398693
Abstract: A mold half is provided particularly for laminated parts which are to be ded from fiber components, with the mold half being formed with an inside surface matching the negative contour of the part to be molded therein. The mold half is formed of a shaped plate material which has been plastically deformed along deformation lines at angles determined by the shape of the part to be molded. The mold half is affixed upon a support member which fits the shape of the deformed material.

  • Patent number: 4329915
Abstract: A piston rod is formed of fiber reinforced material so arranged that an elastic connecting zone is provided between the rod and the piston, thereby avoiding bolting one end of the piston rod to the piston. The cavity inside the piston has a dovetail recess. The fibers are anchored in the cavity and recess by embedding the fibers, which fan out in a uniform distribution from said elastic connecting zone, in a synthetic embedding material.

  • Patent number: 4309865
Abstract: Windings of fiber compound materials are produced on a core in multicourses hereby the fiber arrangement may change from course to course. For this purpose a plurality of fiber coil carriers are arranged in sequence one after the other as viewed in the direction of core advancement. The fiber coil carriers are arranged coaxially relative to the core. The coils of fibers are supported by the fiber coil carriers. The r.p.m. of each fiber coil carrier is adjustable independently of the r.p.m. of any other coil carrier. Each r.p.m. is adjusted to be inversely proportional to the desired pitch of the fibers in the respective winding course. The direction of rotation of each coil carrier is also selectable independently of the rotational direction of any other coil carrier.

  • Patent number: 4226916
Abstract: A loop type force transmitting element is made of fiber composite or compd material. The force transmitting element has a predetermined cross-sectional shape and is open at one end. The cross-sectional area through the loop is constant along the length of the loop. However, the cross-sectional shape or configuration varies along the length of the loop. This type of structure is accomplished by machine winding the reinforcing fibers or filaments as an endless loop onto a winding core which has lateral walls spaced from each other so that the spacing corresponds to the wall thickness configuration along the length of the force transmitting element. One loop portion of the initially endless loop is severed after the composite material has been hardened whereby a loop element is formed which is open at one end.

  • Patent number: 4177306
Abstract: Laminated sectional girders having webs and flanges may be formed to incre the shear stresses thereof by including as a structural part of the girder at least one connecting layer extending through both the flanges and webs of the girder and made of prefabricated sections with additional girder layers being arranged adjacent the sections of the connecting layer. The additional adjacent layers may comprise both fiber-reinforced material layers forming the laminated flanges of the girder as well as the webs thereof. The additional layers may be arranged either between prefabricated sections of the connecting layer or they may be arranged outside of the prefabricated sections.
